The Last of Us multiplayer is fantastic. However, it has no place in the *main* trophy list. I got them both naturally, but it’s really unfair to people who can’t or don’t want to play online. They should’ve made it optional, like the other DLC trophies.

Yeah I really wanted to platinum this game as it's probably my favorite campaign/story game ever made. But I absolutely had no interest in playing the MP. The MP is the only trophies I don't have and will never have them. I just don't want to invest all that time in something I hate.
Joe Sko you can skip days though. Like you complete 1 day, then skip, complete, skip. And you’ll do it twice as fast. I like TLOU multiplayer, but 24 weeks are just too long. Hate MP trophies

Multiplayer trophies really should be banned, how on earth am I going to platinum Last of Us when the servers are basically dead?! Great video though : )
It drives me nuts. Loads of games are impossible to platinum because of dead servers. Out of fear I now get multiplayer trophies for every game in case I want to platinum it in the future. Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

I literally finished the hunter firefly journey tonight to join the 0.05% club and get my platinum. Servers run fine just still plenty of waiting time in lobby, have a cigarette or make a coffee...good fun

I recently got all the trophies on Remastered. Grounded was hell to go through, but it was well worth it. One of the only games I was determined to get the platinum for.

A month ago, I thought it would be insane to even try obtaining the Platinum, when I was watching this video.
A month later after that, I see myself after beating Survivor +.
This one video inspired me to attempt getting the Platinum. Thanks to you, i've come to appreciate this game a lot more. This ain't over for me, Multiplayer is left but so far, this Platinum Journey wasn't as frustrating as i'd thought it would be, and actually made the game more fun for me. Thank you.

Really, really dig the premise of this show and your execution is great. After platinuming all 3 Uncharted games, Last of Us seemed so much more difficult....though I might really make a go of it with Remastered.
Thank you for the kind words. Yeah, it it so much more difficult than Uncharted. Makes for a great video but it had me tearing my hair out in places. If you don't go for the platinum I would recommend playing the game on Survivor, if you haven't done so already. It is challenging and makes you alter the way you play, for the better.
i find uncharted to be more difficult to platinum but thats just me i guess
@@kemosabe2964 I am gonna attempt to platinum The Last of Us and i admit it seems harder than Uncharted, but Uncharted isn't a walk in the park by any means, areas like the train section in 2 and the ship graveyard in 3 take hours to get through by themselves.

I got my platinum trophy playing the game only twice. On your first run play on the hardest difficulty that way when you complete the game you unlock Easy,Normal, and Hard trophies. During this run collect EVERYTHING and DO NOT use your shivs on enemies ONLY use them for the locked doors. Once you complete your first run all you need now is to complete the game on Survival + and finish upgrading your weapons and crafting. Hopefully this helps

I played it 3 times (first time 2 years ago not included). I played it on hard. Then new game plus easy to get all collectibles and doors and stuff on a clean play through. Also upgrading joel and weapons. Then a thirth time on new game plus survivor an finish the weapon upgrades and conversations. Getting all collectibkes at once is to much and ruins fun.

what is it with this game, I bought the original ps3 for this game, completed it twice, sold the ps3 then when the remastered game out I bought the ps4 completed it twice and sold the console, and now a few years ago i bought the ps4 pro just to play this freakin game a few times again, will start a new survivor playthough now, this game is just brilliant.

For those wondering about the parts for upgrades, you’ve got to get all shiv doors and pick up as much parts as you can from your surroundings. These are set and don’t change where you can find them on different playthroughs so there are plenty of guides to where to find them. Difficulty doesn’t affect the amount of parts in the game but it does effect the amount of supplies you can find which can stop you from getting the shiv doors on higher difficulties, so easy playthrough makes it certain you’ll get all the shiv doors and no problem with collecting parts. After you’ve played through it normally, you still won’t have enough parts to fully upgrade all weapons and so will need to complete a new game + and do exactly the same until you get somewhere mid-game (for me it was at Tommy’s settlement) with a workbench and you will be able to fully upgrade. Some might find completing a new game + tedious just for parts but you need to complete new game + for a trophy anyway, so it’s sort of two birds with one stone.

You were one of the reasons I decided to finally platinum this amazing game. I had everything done 6 years ago, everything except the hunter/firefly journey. I didn’t want to touch the multiplayer. Was too intimidated by it. Today I unlocked that beautiful platinum and I’m having a Guinness to celebrate. Cheers to you man for helping me finally push through!

i used the shiv glitch and still couldnt get all doors because i never encountered a new shiv or any parts to make one from chapter 8 to chapter 12 iam not kidding this is bullshit but iam gonna do the last 3 on the next playtrough
@@kemosabe2964 I'm right with you. Sometimes there's just droughts of shiv equipment. I'm not spending it on other crafting items, I'm just legitimately not getting anything, and I scavenge every area possible.

Yeah, there are very few games where getting the platinum means 100% nowadays. Just about everything has DLC.

Left behind is very easy to %100. All you need to do is start on survivor and look up a guide to find all artifacts and optional conversation and it’ll take about an hour and a half to two hours to complete.

How did you have 500+ parts and all other games upgraded ? Also on what difficulty did you fully upgrade Joel because I didn't see the eavesdropping upgrades. Eavesdropping is disabled in higher difficulties, maybe that's why you didn't see them?
The listening ability is disabled from survivor and up. I would actually recommend playing survivor first (if you're aiming for the platinum) so you don't get too comfortable with the ability playing on other difficulties.
Just finished GROUNDED MODE +…what a journey and a challenge. Just need to finish online mode (three more trophies) for Platinum and the optional DLC trophies but boy howdy, mad props to anyone who made it. (BTW, that damn underground part with Sam, I was so pissed after constantly dying that I literally went up to all the runners and beat the shit out of them with my bear hands…can’t believe that worked 😭👊)

I’ve been working towards the platinum and all I’ve got left are the multiplayer trophies. I’ve lost them twice, making it to 11/12 weeks TWICE. Makes me want to cry man. I’ve beat it 3 times on GROUNDED mode and the multiplayer is what’s getting me. On the last wipe out challenge, I picked “long range” and didn’t realize half the map with a hunting rifle didn’t count. Having a crisis. I’m devastated, put so much time into it.
Oof, that is tough. Multiplayer is definitely harder than when I did it with all my fellow noobs. I wish you the best of luck. Hang in there.

I have the Platinum Trophy 🏆 for TLOU Remastered and 100% the Game with all the Add on Trophies 🏆 too and it’s the only Platinum Trophy I have for Multiplayer Trophies 🏆 and it’s in My Top 5 VideoGames of All Time

This is one of my biggest gamer regrets. I loved this on PS3 and like many things, always intended to return to it to platinum it, but when they closed the servers I could attempt it. I have since completed all the MP trophies for the TLOU Remastered on PS4 and look forward to sitting down to complete the SP component to finally add this to my platinum collection. Great episode Adam :)

I'm beginning to realize my obsession with The Last of Us when I've spent more time watching TLOU playthroughs than this guy has spent platting the game. and I don't even have the game....

I got the platinum a couple of days ago. I done the multi trophies first and it didn't take long at all. Play one game and skip two or three by leaving when the match begins. If you leave it then skips a day. This really saves you a ridiculous amount of time.
Then I played the story on easy and went for all collectibles and shiv doors in one playthrough. Lastly I done the chapter glitch to start my second playthrough on Survivor+. In this playthrough I collected the remaining pills and parts to max out Joel and his weapons respectively.
All in all it didn't take that long because I played from the beginning with the intention to platinum so planned it out. I would advise others to follow a similar road map. It's an amazing game so worth the relative grind.

I ended my Platinum journey last night and I feel really stressed. Almost 3 runs and the goddamn multiplayer. I still love the game after ALL this though. Thank you man, for inspired me so much to obtain my Platinum trophy for The Last of Us. Almost 10 years playing and loving this game, I finally made It.

There’s a way to go on Survivor New Game Plus without needing to do a Survivor standard playthrough. What you need to do is when you complete the first playthrough on any difficulty, wait for the credits to finish, then when you start a new game plus playthrough the game only allows you to start on the highest difficulty you played on (for example if you completed the game on easy it only allows you to do new game plus on easy). Don’t worry though, because once you complete chapter one of new game plus (the prologue), all you need to do is wait until you regain control of Joel in chapter 2, quit to the main menu, go on chapters, select the prologue and Survivor new game plus (and Grounded if you choose to play Grounded) will be available for you.

But i have a new problem for the platinum, iam currently playing on easy to get the dialogue options and collectables, but i accidentally missed a pendant and jokes. So iam going to finish my current game to get what i dont miss and the rest on survival plus but to get the "get all collectables" trophy, is it to get all collectables in one playthrough or for do you just have to get what you miss for the trophy to count. And does survival plus stack with all the other difficultys. Sorry if iam asking to much, but thx anyways.gud vid

The NPCs when you are trying to sneak around always get you killed!

Really diggin' your content, Adam. Here's hoping the New Year brings more subscribers and views. You deserve 'em, man. As for Last of Us.. I have put off trying for a Platinum because of just how much of a bear I've heard it is. This video confirms it! The quality of the game, though, is definitely not questionable. One of the absolute best things to come out of the last generation and the remastered version is, by far, one of the best things to own on PS4 right now. Heck..Naughty Dog even mentioned recently that remastering it really informed how they've went about developing Uncharted 4.

The multiplayer is the biggest hurdle for the Platinum. I had big issues with matches not advancing days if I didn't join at the start, of course finding fresh lobbies was not easy so that made everything even worse. No joke, I spent 50 hours on the MP alone. Yeah, without a doubt a must own game. Absolutely exceptional.
Adam McDermott I hate games with multi-player trophies. I don't think it has any place in a trophy list... Anyway, I gotta say, I've seen a few of your videos the past few days. They are so well put together. Excellent pacing and conveys information very well. The presentation is top notch, like the trophy counters. You made the mundane trophies entertaining, and above all, your enthusiasm is infectious especially towards the end of your videos when you are so close to getting that platinum. This video was the one to motivate me to plat this game and start trophy hunting. There were so few times where I wanted to give up, like when I failed 2 Faction runs or had to replay the game a 3rd time on Grounded to fully upgrade the El Diablo, but this video kept me motivated to push through and eventually get my plat.

If I could've given you a tip earlier, I would've told you this: Never use shivs on clickers when you need to open shiv doors. EVER. It can be hard, but I managed to do it.
Yo, I've just got the PLATINUM and completed the game at 100% ! It was absolutely a hell of a ride, from grounded mode to the upgrades and collectibles to the multiplayer, but man, it was absolutely worth it.

I'm the opposite. I was only playing Souls games at this point but then I
noticed I had unfinished games that I really liked and decided to
plat them.
I bought GOW Origins Collection on the recent sale and got the plat for
them (I had finished Chains once before though). I also got the platinum
for Devil May Cry (the original) and it was so damn satisfying to
finally beat Dante Must Die mode.
Now I'm off to finish other games where I'm missing only a handful
trophies like Assassin's Creed 2 and Uncharted 2.
I really like to get platinums and it made me love videogames even more. I was only playing Battlefield games all the time and didn't care about other games. As soon as i started playing for trophies i started enjoying a lot of games. BUT... i gave up playing bad games just for trophies. Games like Orc Slayer, I wouldn't feel proud of having that Plat but embarrassed. Plats yes but only good and cool games.
I enjoy the game first. And after e while if i enjoyed it i replay it to plat them. It showes you the gane in other aspects sometimes. Playing games JUST for the throphies no, it kills the fun like you said.

@Hugh Whittle on grounded mode there are no crafting marerials in that section except a bit of rag and fuel and you can get all the collectables on a lower difficulty for the trophy and money for bonus skins. the easiest way to complete it is sprint to the ladder avoiding the first clicker and the most you'll use is one bullet whist sam lowers the ladder

If you’re going to plat a game, you go with a strategy you can’t just go “I’ll do this task later”, if the task requieres a lot of collection it will also require a lot of time.
Whenever i look back at how i got my platinum. i just look at this video and all the memories come back. What a yourney it was

I'm literally going back to get the multiplayer trophies 6 years after playing the story mode, plus grounded mode... And I rather do that again because it's less tedious.

this is by far the best Journey to Platinum episode. I think you should do more of the difficult platinums like this more often. It's a far more satisfying payoff when it wasn't easy.
Yeah, I found over time that harder platinums make for better episodes. If you haven't already, I suggest watching the Dead Space 2 and Shovel Knight episode. They are the two most difficult playthroughs by far, even harder than The Last of Us.

why didnt you just get the collectibles in chapters instead of playing the entire game multiple times
Masta Reapa because some don't stack up and he didn't know what he missed.
You need multiple plays for getting all the weapon upgrades. Also the collectibles stack up in you statistics not in you game. You ksn have ley's say 18/20 hangers but play another game and finish itwith only 14/20 hangers but get the throphy for getting all 20 hangers.
Sean Beernaert will it count if i did collect all collectibles using chapters and not starting a new fresh Game and get them all at once ???

Me on survivor i had to do the hospital on 1bar hp and only ammo for my flamethrower and assault rifle... took me about 40 tries and it really sucked... i was missing 1/4 alcohol for a medkit 🤦🏻♂️

I know its old, but omg it was a pain seeing all the bs you had to go through. The best is to use a video guide and the collectibles will be easy... Great perseverance btw !

If you ever get around to the remake at some point, it’s much easier than this. No multiplayer trophies, no maxing out Joel, no maxing out all weapons (only one instead).
Easy chapter select is there to go back and clean up anything you missed, just don’t overwrite your main save game when doing so or it will take you back to that point with no way to reverse it and will have to do all collectibles from whatever point you went back to.

When you were doing plat did you get 100% risk of losing your population? I'm at mid week 10 and I already had 3 of them, thankfully I managed but I think I'm gonna get one more.
@@larrythepagan I had a few and always went with the easiest option to pass the challenge. Try not to pick the easiest option unless it is for 100% because some won't show up again. You've come pretty far, I'm sure you'll get to the end.

Hi adam, love your channel and videos. It inspired me to get platinums and enjoying the most of what my games has to offer. I laugh at the optional conversations trophy. I followed a guide to get them and i felt exactly like you did with the final one. Somewhere it also missed one. I got stuck with 36,which i think is a game feature rather than a bug, forcing you to get the convos over multiple playthroughs, making sure you cant get everything on just 2 playthroughs. I felt your pain. But keep up the videos. It feels awesome sharing that feeling of hope when getting a trophy with someone who loves his games as much as i do.
