    I know it's a couple years old, but this is hands down the best video I've seen covering the installation and how the adjustment works. I need new shocks and struts for my '08 and these have been on the top of my list. I've learned from watching this video that while I'm technically competent and physically capable of doing the work, I just don't have all the required equipment and facilites that would make it feasible to do in my driveway in less than a day by myself. The video did make me want to go ahead and bite the bullet to buy a set though. Just have to find someone to help me put them on.

      @brandonporter4227 Thank you so much for the kind words! When I was 16 a guy took me under his wing in his garage and showed me how to rebuild a carburetor then an engine. The skills were important but what I really learned is that "I can do this". The self confidence just builds from every new project you take on. This is the reason for me working and building my TH-cam page, to inspire confidence that "you can do this". Again, thank you for the kind words, and I wish you many success.

      Thanks bud! I will follow up this vid with setup measurements as I needed to adjust the front and rear coilovers for the correct look.

      Love to have a Ute! A Blue Maloo would be perfect.

    Great video!...did you feel you had to add the Camaro rear differential to your g8 GT when you did the pedders suspension?...because since I upgraded to the pedders xa I’ve been having crazy rear stabilizing problems when on the highway the rear is very unstable over bumps. The car feels like it will lose control. I’m trying to trouble shoot it to see what upgrades I need to give her a more confident aggressive ride again.

      @xycfer We upgraded the rearend for increased acceleration, we really did not have to but its a beefier unit with a deeper gear. I am kind of old school where deep gears are always a good idea! Stabilizing problems with the Pedders Suspension: We ran into supply problems with parts so we are not on the road yet. To troubleshoot I would start to soften the suspension settings with the shocks stiffness adjuster or verify/change rear caster/camber adjustments. Let me know what you find out!

    Looks awesome!!! What is the timeline for having the project done??

      Pedders calls for 8 hours for the coilover swap, that is without the lower control arms added into the mix. I think you could get everything in the video done in a weekend.

    When installing Pedders into my VE (aussie version of the G8), they ride very high at rear - around 20mm between the tyre & the wheel arch. I have the body threaded in as far as it will go. Any suggestions?

      We installed BMR lower control arms and we still had to thread the body all the way in. The G8 had a mild rake to its stance but looked great just the same. Maybe pick up lower control arms that are designed to lower the VE, I believe the BMR lower control arms have the lowering built in.

    What rear discs did you use with the CTSv conversion?

    • @CarswellsCustoms
      @CarswellsCustoms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Paul Scalisi CTSV rears. If I remember right there is some clearance issues with the stock G8 hub knuckle on the bottom. But that is remedied with a grinding wheel. I will double check for you today.

      @@CarswellsCustoms thanks! I am also looking at the DBA rotors also. I think with those you just need to cut the lip off of the backing plate I think they are 350mm diameter.
      The calipers then just bolt-on with no further mod.
      The DBA rotors also let you keep the emergency brake same for CTSv rotor?
