Speaking as a black american man, I generall don't mind people taking pictures of or with me. I understand that people might be seeing someone that they don't normally see and they want to capture it. I think it's just jarring to people of our culture when people don't ask you first, and you just turn around and see someone pointing a camera or tripod towards you or just run up in front of you with one. Many other americans --particularly women, seem to find this annoying or even insulting.. but again it comes down to cultural senses of "boundaries" I guess. I'm glad you asked the question and why and also what they like to do with he pictures afterwards.
Yes, being treated like a Zoo animal is always fun, isn't it. I am black and would never go to China.
A woman’s cycle is a good indicator of health. When I saw an acupuncturist, he would check my tongue in order to make guesses about my internal organ health. I had difficulty falling asleep for my entire life, and always felt hungover in the mornings. I thought it was normal and I just wasn’t a morning person.
In a string of events related to the acupuncturist having me quit sugar, and keep a food diary, I eventually began eating a high fat/protein and very low carb diet. It cured my sleep problems and morning sluggishness, and many other issues I thought were fairly normal, or just due to aging. I eat mostly animal products now.

Wow. I actually plan on seeing an acupuncturist here in China, initially planned on doing it just for content but perhaps there might actually health benefits for me.. I’m glad you sleep way better now I’m sure mine will get better eventually too 😁

As an french woman in my 40´s, I've been asked countless times : normal 👍 ! I've also traveled in China 15 years old without speaking chinese and nobody had a cellphone back then but I 've had my picture taken SO MUCH anyway, I must be in many family photo albums all over I went 😂😂😂
Hi! I'm over 40. Because our hormones affect us and our periods in such a strong way --fatigue, headaches,nausea,hot and cold sweats, exhaustion,cramps, backaches,etc.,doctors have to ask us about our periods. It's normal in the U.S. and elsewhere to be asked. And if we NEVER have those symptoms, then that poses a whole set of new problems.

Every doctor I have seen for any type of reason in the U.S. asks me when my last cycle was. This could be a neurologist, psychologist, orthopedic surgeon, etc. I think it is to get an idea of where you are hormonally and to see if you are even having periods at all as some women don't for various reasons. This could relate to any number of health issues. :)

For me. It’s common. My family doctor is Asian. She always ask me when last I had my period. Last month I went for a mammogram first time going to a new place. She also asked me when last I had my period. Last year. I dislocated my shoulders and went for therapy on it. That doctor asked me when last I had my period. What does dislocating my left shoulder as to do with my period 🤷🏾♀️. Even my 16 year old son. The other day I was yelling at him for something. He asked me if I was on my period. I had to tell him aunt flow is not in town. I guess everything that happens or a mode a woman is in. It means we are on or just finished our periods.

It is standard for the assistant or doctor to ask when your last period was when you visit the doctors office. Just the same as them tracking your weight, temperature and blood pressure.
