Dude I'm not saying you held up the entire channel, but this season of high low was such a breathe of fresh air because it felt very grounded in reality. It didn't feel like a TH-cam show where we're just wasting money and blowing up cars for entertainment, but instead actual dedicated builds with smart upgrades with purpose. It was the revival Donut needed with the hit it took with the cast members leaving. Your input definitely helped steer this season to be inclusive and considerate of the audience, which I had felt they started to lose

It's awesome to hear your input. The Donut Hi Low series is great. Now it makes a lot more sense that they picked mustangs. I'm a GM guy myself when it comes to domestics. So I'm glad to see how the Ford boys do there things.
Yeah. I worked for an old-time dragracer that owned a motor shop in Cleavland many years ago. One of his favorite sayings was " I can build you a motor with as much horsepower as you want as long as you have the cubic dollars..." Jim Lacosie about 2005. I'll never forget that. And it's so true.
The way I think of it is Donut got a soft reboot and I actually like it. Ironically Donut was at its worst just before the OG hosts left. In my opinion for low car, if they wanted to really relate to cheap people they would have incorporated the used car part market Into the build. They could have stretched their budget farther or got better results buying something expensive for cheap.
That’s true but then i think the point of the series is to provide a baseline. I forget about buying used parts literally all the time. I love drag racing, and it was great to see multiple drivers run 10s in High Car. But man, 75k for that buid. I know bikes aren't for everyone, but I ran a 10.6 1/4 on a $5K 2006 GSX-R 600 with a bolt-on exhaust, Power Commander, geared-up sprockets, lowering links and a 6" stretch, on regular street tires, and after only about 25-30 total passes of seat time. BIkes are just a whole other planet of cheap speed. Less than $6k in the whole thing.
I've done the 1/4 in my G82 M4C and my uncles 992.1 Turbo S. The Porsche did it 10.4 and then a 10.3 with hime behind the wheel. My point being his Turbo S was around $270k, you compare that to the Mustang that's $75k and that's pretty damn good to get in the 10s for that amount of money.
David is legendary and you will become G.O.A.T status when you get invited to Car and Driver or Motor Trend. Can’t wait to hear about it….cause I’m not gonna pay for motortrend😂
They spent $75,000 and made 605whp and ran high 10s..... as a blown coyote owner im extremely unimpressed and unhappy that they didnt get any real results. The coyote is known for its ability to flow air well and only get better with more boost, which they didnt do. Add the fuel system, buy the fuel, do it right. Very upsetting and embarrassed for them.
Eh, its not that bad and it makes sense for them. I really dont think they want a repeat of their subarus so running it on such a conservative level is smart. While yes coyote can definitely handle much more, the problem is that more power can mean more problems, and with it being the center of a series they would rather not have it break on them right away
I dont know why they didn't run E85. Its hard to find 93 here in California but theres plenty of gas station that have E85 and in Sonoma theres some with 100 octane
