Incredible! I remember my bus rides with going to Santa Rosa. We left from Alameda County (Oakland & Berkeley) the sights of Contra Costa County (El Cerrito & Richmond), a little bit of Marin County (San Rafael) to Sonoma County
At the beginning of the video, you're not just traveling on I-580 West, you're also traveling on I-80 East. It's one of the few instances of a "reverse concurrency" on the US interstate highway system.
And they both head northbound!
Nice ..
The lower deck of the San Rafael Bridge reminds me of what the Bay Bridge's former lower deck on the eastern span used to look like (claustrophobic).
About the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, it's a good thing the toll plaza was converted to a toll gantry. I thought CalTrans decided to do that. Electronic tolling and tolls via mail is the future.
Some great views! Loved the soundtrack you paired with this one as well, adding the first song to my playlist for sure!
Thank you very much for tuning in!

Prior to the interchange you took, the exit for what was then Highway 17 was on the left side of the Eastbound 80 freeway.
Yess! I think the change went into effect around the late 1980s.
Conglads on given us a full tour of I-580. Despite the Western part of it (West of I-80) being a bit of a letdown.
To be honest, I don’t really like the control cities of Interstate 580.
From West to East it should be, Oakland/Los Angeles, Stockton/Los Angeles, Fresno/Los Angeles.
East to West: San Francisco, Santa Rosa
northsouth should be LA to T!juana
I don’t understand Fresno being a control city. Especially for EB I-580 and SB I-5. For northbound I-5 I can see making a case until the HWY 41 junction.
@@InterstateKyle My best guess would be to direct Fresno bound traffic onto SR-152-99 instead of 205-120-99 as the latter already has a significant VPD.
