A video showing how you make Home Assistent work with Apple front end would be great
Good idea! :)
I would probably trade the Mac out for just an ESP 32, and I believe in Home Assistant you can make an automation which triggers when that goes off-line.
Good idea! I already had this so it was free for now. Later I may upgrade this setup :)
Well done Gage!
Thank you!
Hey, interesting stuff, nicely done. And a special shout-out to the cameraman, she must be wonderful.
yes she is wonderful 😄
Love the video! I just bought a house of my own, and so I've been looking for inspiration - thanks for providing some great ideas! Just a quick note, in a few parts of the video, you show the HomeKit pairing barcodes for some of your devices - probably not a big deal, but you might want to blur those out. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks! Its not a huge deal because you would need to come to my address, connect to my wifi, unpair my devices and then pair it with the code. I think most people are too lazy to do that 😂
Can you give me more insight on your hub located in the closet? Where the Mac mini and Mac book is set up. Why is it necessary?
Macbook and Mac Mini are mot necessary. i run them as linux servers for other stuff. :) and the hubs are my philips hue and lutron caseta hubs. :)
Great Vid definitely real world and Love the cat. We’re going to move this year (uk) and will do similar as all Apple Inc watches. Wondering what you can see on the watch in the way of security alerts? Wonder if there is a smart cat flap? Thanks again.
My watch will tell and show me when someone is at the front door using the doorbell camera. :) super helpful
Instead of the Aqara sensors I just made an automation that says whenever the door is unlocked, turn on the light.
Then I set it to auto lock after 1 minute. And then another automation to turn off the lights.
That works also! :)
How do you get your Solar Edge inverter into HA?
There is a integration for solar edge, and you just need your account and api key from your account. :)
@@iGageit thanks.
Wires at 10:32 are screaming for a professional, sry, could not ignore it
Oh I agree! Lol! I need to clean them up someday!
this house in its entirety will drive my paranoid ass nuts. just every one of those switches and smart lightes are essentially a NSA backdoor. tin foil hat doesn't cut it in this house, you have to wear a hazmat suit in this house 😁
Great video mate, just subscribed. I run a home assistant channel too!
Hi Simon! I have seen your videos! Just subscribed back 😄 thanks for watching
Thank you :)@@iGageit
😃😃😃
Great smart home, horrible interior, you really need to spend some money on nicer furniture.
When I don’t have kids or pets I will upgrade to something nicer 😂
You lost me at “my cat food thing on a timer, not connected to home assist or anything is smart home”. That’s like 1980s timer tech
Yup! Not everything needs to be on the network to be “smart” :)
Well done. Need to get the wife on a modern phone! 😀
Working on it 😂😅

Haha! It’s not for everyone.
those lego sets better not be for investments
Nope. Just for me to enjoy 😊
Cool stuff
Thanks!
What are the details of the UPS you are using? Also can you do a video around how you are using ups+ your homeassistant laptop automations that you were saying in this video?
Great video! I will certainly be implementing some of these things in my setup!
Love a good smart home tour!
Thanks! :D
hi! Can you make a video explaining reolink configuration in scrypted? I can only stream on HomeKit, I have an iCloud account with 2TB but I still can't have recordings on HomeKit. I must be doing something wrong that I can't figure out.
Great question. I was having the same issues and it took a while for me to figure out what I was doing wrong! I will make a video about that! 😄👍
If you still have your Tuya devices, you can make these cloud-free in Home Assistant using the Local Tuya integration.
Was quite a bit of work to set it up but flawless ever since.
Ive been wanting ti dive into that, just haven’t found the time. :)
Amazing! enjoyed watching it. Thank you for explaining and naming everything so clearly!
This video was fun to make, let me know if you have any questions about any of it. :)
