Bendiciones! Oh my gosh! YES!!! One of the top orishas venerated in my home. He is my dads' santo... and I think I inherited him. Despite being child of Elegua, Babalu in his St.Lazarus form helps me a lot too. Very shocking, learned by mistake really how this orisha manifest himself tome a lot and helps whenever possible. I just was so down financially, only had $4 to do my lottery tickets, and I asked Babalu to help me, and he answered with a winning ticket. It wasn't a big win, but was enough to pay off my dues and get stuff for the house. So yeah Babalu isn't just for disease of the body but also the disease of poverty itself. 🙏Ase!
The Pataki of God and devil making a bet on Babalu Aye, is such in synchrony with the story of Job in some instances in the bible. This man really helped me in hard times, from my health, to food in my house. Asè

The entire time I was listening I kept hearing the phrase “order of nature”. Comfort and the lack of challenges would be an ideal life but it’s not real. When we face things like sickness and death it truly is a moment where you either swim or sink! That is a very real part of the journey we incarnated to live out. This was such a direct episode about Babalu Aye. He was humanized to me in a very unique way. Thank you for your transparency and sharing your experiences too!

I really enjoyed this! Baba, thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom on this topic. And Phil, thank you for asking the juicy questions we all want to know. Blessings to you both
I’m crowned to Babalu Aye direct. The day I had my orisha pulled there was a stray dog was laying down under a tree outside of my godfather’s house. I chuckled when you told the pataki of Babalu Aye getting the other Orisha sick for making fun of him. One of my favorite patakis 😂.
I’m very honored to be a daughter of San Lazaro! He is a very miraculous saint that has saved my life and helped me in every step of my life. One question I have always wondered is, how are his children selected? I ask because it is true there are very few of us. This was an incredible and extremely informative video. Thank you for the awesome work that you do and many bendiciones!
Maferefun babalu aye my dog is named Loki Lazero bc he has conquered sickness and I prayed to babalu aye to save him also my dogs bday is dec 16th and san lazero feast day is dec 17th 🐾🐊💜💚
Iboru Baba, thank you for all of your efforts and your team. I would love to hear more about the shells. When I received my mother Orishanla, shells were cast and I received Metanla but no information. Live long King 🙏🏿 Ps I think it’s powerful that I rarely see you coughing so much 😅
Thankyou, I'm a child Of Babaluaye and my godsister is crowned direct. Some say the woman at the beginning of the story is Oshun. I received with Nana and Nanu Arara and Lucumi way, some say Nanu is the wife nurse assistant
In the movie... They Cloned Tyrone... the character named Slick Charles almost directly maps to Babalú Ayé... In the movie he's a pimp... he wears the colors of Babalú Ayé... he mocks a guy because of his skin then kills him (accidentally)... he has 3 bit**es (female dogs) that he calls his flowers and work for him and lives with him in a hotel (outside of a home)... one of them is shown taking care of his fingernail cuticles (dead skin)... he drinks liquor a lot... In one scene he's seen stretching or dancing looking strange... The parking lot outside the hotel has purple lights... and... other orishas are also represented in the movie... Fontaine is Ogun... Yo-Yo is Oshun... Frog is Orunmila... and June Bug is Eshu... Does no one else see this???... Fon is the name of the West-African People and their language... This is where the Orishas originated from... Tain means "to hold" originally... forming the name of the main character FonTaine... The Orishas represented in the movie have their colors objects personalities and relationships that map from the character in the movie directly to their related Orisha... Watch the movie... or... watch it again.. to see that which is seen but unseen.
i find the leopard part so interesting. in vodou, the king of dahomey is lwa Agasu, who’s color is red and is known for being the leopard king or dawned in leopard print!
This can be found in the Odu Baba Obara Kosun which is where Babaluaye was draped in the red robe and leopard skin upon being crowned in that land. Thank you for this amazing comment! Aboru!
The Yemaya angle is interesting. I read that Yemaya escaped an angry Orunmila by helping a group of homosexual men. The only Babaluaye I know is a homosexual flight attendant, very nice and talkative and the last time I saw him he was sick 😅
I just realized that story also separates the level that women can interpret. Their ability is caped at 13 mouths open “Metanla” when I received 13 mouths my godmother said “I’ve never seen so many mouths open.” Baba your teachings are cold, ice cold 🔥🤙🏿🔥
Is there something about not speaking his name, if you do, you should pour water, or something like that? I chuckled when the coughing started, and then took a sip. Sakpata? Is that you lol
The so-called synchronizations are so interesting. The story about the devil telling God he could corrupt anyone on earth is very similar lo the story of Job in the King James Christian Bible. Love the education being imparted here. Goes back to your come Baba. Perhaps it is the catholic saints or icons that are synchronized with the Orishas.
Babalu came from Cuba. Babalu was a playful god. There were many. This is another made-up fairytale. We liked the song, we sang it. The song is in the Spanish language, and it always was. The USA Blacks are ridiculous with fairytale. It's just a popular song in the Latino community. Latinos don't think like USA Black ppl, and neither do the Afro Latinos. We don't practice separatism. In Yoruba land, we dont think death is the end either, to us we simply go on to live another life in a realm that transcends the one we left.
