Oh the Fatal Fury movies were fantastic. Heck, they're some of my favorite video game based adaptations next to the Street Fighter animes. And to this day, the Fatal Fury animes hold a special place in my heart.
A new chapter to Obari's Fatal Fury would be a dream come true.
The KOF XV animation was just a taste of the possibilities.
I miss his 90s art style, but I will take his current style over nothing.
The Fatal Fury Animes were absolutely Amazing Blockbusters in most pieces of SNK Media,
I still so wish to this very Day for a Continuation of the FF Anime series of Films where we could've seen Characters like Blue Mary and Ryuji Yamazaki make their Anime Debuts so badly.
They were def in my blockbuster, great rental.

SNk should seriously approach Obari Masami to make one last complete OVA (or webseries) to coincide with the release of City of The Wolves release that would help bridge the gap between Garou 1 and 2. It'd be perfect marketing if you ask me.

These 3 anime’s movies were master pieces the fight choreography the music the story even the dub voice acting and drawing were perfect they need more
Watched all three movies. I enjoyed the second movie more then the first and the third but they were all good.
The action scenes in the Fatal Fury 2 anime was done by the Japan Action Club group which was founded by legendary actor Sonny Chiba.

Something that I found it deeply ironic about the Fatal Fury anime, is that they never got dubbed into Latin American Spanish. I mean, during the 90s anime got even more popular in Latin America thanks to shows like Saint Seiya and Dragon Ball and SNK were doing incredible well in arcades in the region as well
We got dubs for the Street Fighter, Tekken and Virtua Fighter anime, and the Mortal Kombat cartoons also got dubbed, but the Fatal Fury anime only got officially released with a European Spanish dub in Spain. They could've easily dubbed them in Mexico and released them on VHS or shown in tv channels like Locomotion

I'm quite in awe learning about the development scenario of Krauser in this. I always wondered why Krauser's design looked so different in these animated films compared to how he was portrayed in the games, I feel like it was a smart move to add insult to injury after Geese's lost having Krauser be more talented them him fighting and hygiene wise, and I'm fairly certain most people agree portraying him as a what if anti-hero over a stereotypical villain is a far more unique and cooler approach this his character overall, neat video!
all of them were a masterpiece and I hope we see a garou anime cuz i would LOVE to see how rock howard and hotaru futaba would look in the anime
I had all three from Viz as a kid on VHS (and still do). I was big into the movie as a kid… nowadays I wish they just stuck to canon but made the animation the same quality for the movie. A canon story like the first two would have been better. Happy we got that kind of animation at all and with the first two specials reflecting the game so much. That was a special time.
I am a huge fan of these movies!! I got these on VHS back in the day and picked up the Blue Ray's recently. I watched them all the time back then! I was a big Fatal fury and SNK fan and I enjoyed these then and still to this day! Wish they would make a new one and continue the story.👍👍👍
These days the second anime special is my fave because it is the closest thing to a fighting game being played out as a story (while sticking to canon) from start to end in the anime efforts.
i'm still pissed that the 3rd film left us with a cliffhanger. We need a fourth film to close out the story arc.
I loved these movies! I think 2 was my favorite of the three, because I feel like it was the closest to the games. That being said, I enjoyed the third one a lot BECAUSE of it's stand alone story. I binged all three of these while I had covid along with the Samurai Shodown OVAs. Helped make a shitty time a little less shitty.
FF2 was the best by far. FF3 has a terrible and wildly inconsistent art style. With the shit visuals + the disconnected (series) story and cast, I absolutely despise FF3. It's total trash and I refuse to own it 😤
I hope for the future of Fatal fury anime series, i would love to see the scrapped story of Fatal fury and AOF crossover for for Terry andy joe Mai team with Ryo Robert to fight Mr Big. Maybe in a parallel universe, but it would be nice to see Fatal fury aof anime crossover but 1 can always hope.

I love Terry Bogard fall and rise from his defeat of , and all the layers of characterization from Krausser.
A truly masterpiece.

It was just prequel before during when Geese Howard was young adult.
@@kareemb5624 It's not a reason. Andy has always been blond even when he was a child. So the choice of him having blue hair in the 1st movie, is a really bad choice.

The Classic Fatal Fury Animes was Super Successful I’ll give you that, Hope they look forward for a new Fatal Fury Anime Revival by starting at the beginning based on the games for the story like Fatal Fury 1, 2, Special, 3 and Real Bout as well as Garou: Mark of the Wolves. If Mr. Obari would work on the Fatal Fury Anime and The King of Fighters as well. Though there is one of my classic anime, Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, Have watched it and it was good. Sure do missed them classical Art Style of the Street Fighter Characters, Hope Capcom needs to adapted these fighting games like Street Fighter, Final Fight, Rival Schools and Darkstalkers into Anime Series and Movies and my least favorite crossover fighting game Capcom vs. SNK Series, Think Capcom vs. SNK needs to adapted into Anime? If so, I like to see fight between Ryu vs. Kyo and the rest of the fighters to start on the ultimate battle!

I thought Laocorn and his crew would be guest characters in KoF XV (that would of shattered my expectations), given the timing at the time and that Obari did the anime intro to the game. I can see Laocorn being a free boss character, but the way things are going, it'll probably be Orochi.

If I watch a fighting game anime adaptation, it's to see my heroes and the game's story adapted. Even if the 3rd movie is a good movie, I don't like it as it's not canon.

I watched these ovas/movies on the blu rays recently, and they are still really good movies. I also watched the Street FIghter blu ray movie, and watching them now that I am much older I think the Fatal Fury movie completely outdid the Street Fighter movie.
Street Fighter II OVA is coming out on 4K disc this month 😎👍

Guys... look. If you loved these movies, that's fine. If you consider them canon and think they should influence what happens in future games, that's fine. I'm a grownup. I can deal with differing opinions. The existence of people who don't think exactly the way I do doesn't infuriate me. You're cool. I'm cool. We're cool.
Now that that's out of the way:
The first movie was a big mess. Shoehorning in a 100% noncanon sacrificial lamb in Lily was bad enough. (News flash: Terry _has_ a girlfriend! Here's a few hints! Looks like a certain famous android, baggy jeans, dog lover, always returning to stuff!) But killing off Tung and completely screwing with nearly all the characterizations and attacks (I _winced_ when I heard Billy bellow "senpuuuu kooonnn!") was unforgivable. And it ends with the brothers declaring their vengeance complete after knocking Geese into a shallow pond. Geez.
The second movie was a little more coherent plotwise, I just could never _buy_ it. In particular, it's a huge mystery *why* Wolfgang (I'm not giving a character as marginal as him last name privileges) wanted ANYTHING to do with Terry, least of all a vendetta. Also (and in fairness, this has been a longstanding problem with him), how exactly is he a bad guy? The most concrete thing I ever heard is some arglebargle about influencing world trade. I've known nuns that were more villainous. With most of the fighters complete blowoffs... I could almost see the bored screenwriter numbly ticking off "Jubei Yamada", "Kim Kaphwan", "Axel Hawk"... the whole exercise came across as lifeless, something SNK did because they were expected to.
The third movie... ugh. The thing that really stuck out for me about this (other than Duck's nightclub getting wrecked for no reason at all and Mai being the Designated Bimbo and therefore unable to beat anyone ever, AGAIN) is how it absolutely _wallowed_ in the Mary Sue trope. Seriously, _textbook_ case. Three made-up-from-whole cloth characters who utterly _demolish_ everyone and everything they run into without breaking a sweat. (In particular, the lethal Laurence Blood getting totally curbstomped was just insulting.) And of course, Terry is *the only one* who can match their bleeearrgghhh. It's as if the writers were horribly restrained by having to make a perfunctory nod towards canon in the first two movies and were just _bursting_ to go hog wild with a cliche-ridden fantasy.
They were a product of their time. They were made to cash in on a hot property. Nobody should've expected... or should expect... any more.
Yes! The anime that allowed us to see Mai's boobies! A true classic! Still some of my favorite video game adaptations!
Ranma 1/2 and The Fatal Fury animes introduced me to "real" anime way back when! Thanks for covering them. I was so hoping we at least got to part 3 for Mary's debut cuz it was so sad to see Terry kept losing girlfriends 🥲
