Hey man I had the same Altima but it was a 17. It sounds like what mine was doing when the a/c compressor was going out. Is that sound only happening when you have either the heat or the A/C on? Or does it get louder when it’s on? Nissan had me replace the compressor the first time it did it at 77k miles and then then it did it again @ 120k miles and I got rid of it. The condenser messed up the new compressor and both needed to be replaced again. I hope that isn’t what it is but it sounds like what mine was doing.

But wait, it’s doing it when the a/c is off. Could it be the pulley?

I'd bet its a pulley. Pull the belt and spin em all
