Access to pull out the connector is so nice on your M4 compared to my F-Pace SVR haha. Nice! Luckily neither of our cars have ECUs looking for valve position feedback!
@@trouchie You have to unbolt the rear valence to let it drop a bit and then you only have a few minutes to get the job done before the car goes to sleep from accessory mode and valves close themselves haha….unless you do it with the engine running :p. I found your video looking to see if anyone did this on the G80 series - about to order one.
I know this was a year old video but quick question here you put a plastic protection on the connector but how about the terminal of the valve where you pull the plug does it get corroded or maybe get some moisture and eventually getting some rust? Thanks
Thanks for the comment. I’m afraid I’m not sure about this as I only had this mod done for a few months before I plugged them back in and sold the car. Thanks.
Hiii im only seeing this vid now cos recently ive gotten a M4 and i dont want to spend money for a new exhuast , can i go under the car myself an do it or do i need to lift it up? Thanks
@Paul Connor thank you I do plan on doing it later, after I disconnect the plugs do I start the car or switch it off an start it again? !! Love your vids
Hi and thanks for the comment. Yes I remember it being pretty hard to pull out the connectors. I think there’s a little bit you push in when pulling that helps but got to pull hard.
I tried it sounds really nice but my car wouldn’t go up to 120 hp when I floor it idk if that’s a problem with my car but when I put the cable back it’s back to normal
Hi and thanks for the comment. Yes so they remain opening when driving in efficient. But I mainly drive in sport mode for throttle and the sound and driving experience feels very different to me with this mod. A big improvement over stock I would say. Thanks
That is a great question. When I first did it I thought it had a slight negative effect on fuel economy, but now I'm not too sure. For me it makes the car feel so much better when driving especially on downshifts feeling smoother. Obviously it is much louder too so I don't know how much is psychological.
Wouldnt this just be the same thing if you just put it in sport plus by a push of a button? Or does this way open it up more then just switching it to sport plus?
Thanks for the comment Julian. So pretty much what RevItRalph has said. I had to push it hard to get some decent sounds in sports mode, but with the mod was louder even at slower speeds as I remember. Thanks.
Hi Hasan, yeah so I found that only when in sports mode I still had to rev quite high to get a decent sound. With this mod it made it more apparent in eco and lower revs.
Hi Colin, thanks for the message. That is unfortunate about this method not working on your car. I'm not sure if there is a different method you can try?
Question, does having the values open effect the efficiency of the car? I haven’t noticed a difference myself. Just wanted to check before making them permanently open as I have a 90mile daily commute
Hey… thanks for the awesome tip. It was really easy to do this and now my M4 sounds really nice!
Great stuff Darryl glad you sorted it 😀
Just had both mine programmed at DMS when I was having the tune installed!!👌

Thanks for the comment CapnT87. Is the access to the valves on the SVR hard to get at?

Thanks for the comment. Congrats on the M4. Really nice motor! Yes I didn’t jack my car up at all and managed to do this myself on my drive at home.

@@sahilnaidoo thanks a lot man. I really can’t remember it’s been quite a few years since I had the M4. Good luck with it buddy :)
Hello from France ! I can’t manage to pull of the connector, even by using my thumb. How did you manage ? It’s so hard to

Thanks for the comment Atsy. That’s strange regarding not getting up to 120!
I just coded it to always open 😉
What did you use to code?
@@truhust1az1 MHD but with bimmerlink it should be work too.
@@Rif_Tv_Gaming did you experience a Differnce in fuel economy?
@@josephmina1816 No not really.
Hey! I take it as unplugging that cable prevents the valves from closing? Do they remain open even in comfort/efficient mode?
Hi and thanks for the comment. Yes so they remain opening when driving in efficient. But I mainly drive in sport mode for throttle and the sound and driving experience feels very different to me with this mod. A big improvement over stock I would say. Thanks

Does this work on the bmw m4 m sport 2016 420D ?
Does it use more fuel with the valves open in efficient mode or is it just pure exhaust sound
I can’t fully remember but I don’t think it affected fuel. Pretty sure it was just the sound.
Are you doing a feature on the mustang Paul, love to see it, regards,
Yea Tony thinking about doing it tomorrow if I can get the time to do another vid. It’s been a while!
@@trouchie OK bud, I'll keep my eye out,
What do the wires do? What happens if you just open the valves and leave the wires on?
the wires close them again.
Wouldnt this just be the same thing if you just put it in sport plus by a push of a button? Or does this way open it up more then just switching it to sport plus?
The Exhaust will stay "open" at all times. Some people dont want all the power just the exhaust note
Thanks for the comment Julian. So pretty much what RevItRalph has said. I had to push it hard to get some decent sounds in sports mode, but with the mod was louder even at slower speeds as I remember. Thanks.
Sport + actually doesn’t keep the valves open at all times. They only go open all the way at the higher rpms under heavier acceleration
Sport + or M2 burns more fuel if that matters. I love the sound but don't want all that power or having to be at high RPM to hear that sweet sound
Hi does this do the same thing by having it in sports or sport plus mode?
Hi Hasan, yeah so I found that only when in sports mode I still had to rev quite high to get a decent sound. With this mod it made it more apparent in eco and lower revs.
Hi, just asking what exactly does unplugging those plugs do to the car?
It just the plugs for the valve. Prevents them from closing
won't the plastic melt?
yh it will just fold the wire and ziptie it
Does this work on the g80 m3?
I’m not too sure. Never drove one yet. Will be interesting to find out though.
Cool mod! No error on computer?
Sorry about the delayed response. No error on the computer IZ thankfully!

I have a 540i msport but this method wont work and i cant open the valve
Hi Colin, thanks for the message. That is unfortunate about this method not working on your car. I'm not sure if there is a different method you can try?
you have to use icarly to open it and after its open for 10min you can disconnect the cable.
Does it stay open after doing it once or do you have to do this every time you start the car?
Hi Mike, as I remember you just need to do it the once. Hope that helps bud!

Sounds moch beda 😁
Thanks for the comment Federico. Yes much better sound with the valves forced open :)
I have another problem smoke go out just for one pipe😀 because one valve open another close?
Oh man. That never happened to me and unfortunately I don’t have the car anymore to provide any help. Hope you get it sorted 😀
