Story 1: I don’t think this is the end of Kelly’s tyranny. She will continue such behavior in intermittent periods of time. Emily sounds like a good person. If Ryan and Emily ever decide to marry or have kids, I honestly fear for the amount of bad things that Kelly will do, coz I believe she definitely will do bad things .

Wow. We have rules like that while our kids live at home, even after they turn 18. We don't have *sleepovers* at home nor on vacation. That obviously changes once they move out on their own or in with their SO. I can't imagine anything more ridiculous than having an adult child who has been living on their own or with their SO (especially for years as in this situation) and A) expecting them to room separately on vacation and B) being shocked they're having sex.
The expectation is that they respect us by not flaunting it in front of the family and we respect theirs by not treating them like children. Kelly sounds like a mess.
