Awww i am sorry to this Charles also i know my Jack has not got long left as well, if i be honest i cried when i edited Jack in the video at the end and if i watch it again i keep doing it even though he is sat here beside me.

Those Sako rifles are just stunning and the optics you use are amazing to see the clarity through, especially the night-vision. Hey from the Catskills great to see you protecting the livestock. My brother has been seeing foxes on the farm. I’ve been sighting in my 17 HMR will spend some time there soon. It’s bad enough when we lose animals due to illness, predators can not be tolerated . Good show Pisano An extra biscuit to the old General!
It's always good to see the other wildlife when you are out and about. I enjoyed seeing the fox thinking about taking his chances with those geese! Yes, magpies are a problem and I remember last year a pair of them robbing just about every nest on our street of eggs and chicks. Keep up the good work!

Very accurate if I do my part out of my Savage 10 FCP-K in 223 Rem. I don't think I've ever connected at the distances you do tho, despite my best efforts. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
Great work again, well ive got the 4k alpex and im switching between various ir lights that ive got trying it out. The cheap vcsel ones give good range but a textured grainy image, an led night sabre does a good job but not to quite so far out. That pbir x seems very good, ( it was a moonlit night to be fair and on a wide open slope which helps) im wondering how it would compare to likes of a dark engine blade? Have you tried any other sources? Thanks
Being honest Stephen a laser will see a tad further than the PBiR X but not as clear were as the PBiR X see's easily clear to 300 yards which i only want to shoot to say 250 at night so is spot on for me.
@@simon6ppc246 That makes sense, I'm trying to use the alpex also my long range viewing tool at the moment as I only have nv binos for spotting, but I think when I do take the plunge and get a decent thermal spotter, there will be no need for that, just lighting up a shootable distance. 👍 A pbir X may be the go to for illumination. Hi there Simon another great video thanks. I got 4 the other night in about half an hour. I had stalked a big male for some time but he got my scent. I took a long shot at about 200m and the fox just ran then I got a jammed cartridge. By the time I got back ready there was a fox in front and I shot low and wounded it but followed up and there was another dead at his feet ( first shot was good ) the echo of the shot made another come out of the trees and I got it then walking home I got another. The new Hikmicro looks pretty clear I have the older one. Only problem sometimes it doesn't record after the shot. Do you just press record ? I also got an aftermarket IR torch with red LED plus 850 and 940 IR in the one torch am pretty happy with it. We are going into winter and foxes starting to call to each other the rabbit call not as effective I find at this time. What do you use going into your winter assuming your foxes pair up in winter ?
Ye Dave my first Alpex some times would not record but this 4k version does it every shot to be fair and ye the 840 IR will be the best for it or even a laser and around Winter time i always use mating calls my favorite being the vixen on heat off a fox pro.
Great shooting as always. Cheshire gun room is good on prices for that gear. What you think to the alpex 4k was about to buy one. Hope jacks doing well.
@@simon6ppc246 have you tested the ballistic calculator? Just had a few people saying it don’t work to well. Picture looks so much clearer than my pard ds35. Do you want some zan 10g slugs. Can’t get them to work in any of my air rifles lol.

Hi there Simon another great video thanks. I got 4 the other night in about half an hour. I had stalked a big male for some time but he got my scent. I took a long shot at about 200m and the fox just ran then I got a jammed cartridge. By the time I got back ready there was a fox in front and I shot low and wounded it but followed up and there was another dead at his feet ( first shot was good ) the echo of the shot made another come out of the trees and I got it then walking home I got another. The new Hikmicro looks pretty clear I have the older one. Only problem sometimes it doesn't record after the shot. Do you just press record ? I also got an aftermarket IR torch with red LED plus 850 and 940 IR in the one torch am pretty happy with it. We are going into winter and foxes starting to call to each other the rabbit call not as effective I find at this time. What do you use going into your winter assuming your foxes pair up in winter ?
Ye Dave my first Alpex some times would not record but this 4k version does it every shot to be fair and ye the 840 IR will be the best for it or even a laser and around Winter time i always use mating calls my favorite being the vixen on heat off a fox pro.

@@simon6ppc246 have you tested the ballistic calculator? Just had a few people saying it don’t work to well.
Picture looks so much clearer than my pard ds35.
Do you want some zan 10g slugs. Can’t get them to work in any of my air rifles lol.
Have a look through the 4K at Cheshire Gunroom my friend you will be amazed how clear it is.
