It works no problem on my 2022 accord but I have noticed that after a while of the car being off it will not remote start until you go and turn the car on. Great video tho keep up the good work!
No, but my understanding with the way it works is whatever setting you have it on prior to turning the car off is what it work’s towards on remote start. Basically, if you have the temp set to 70 that is what it will shot for on remote start. With these cars anyhow you only get 10 min on remote start so unless your trying to cool the car it really won’t matter other than getting the motor warmed up a little.
I went to batteries plus bulbs here in Porter Ranch California and I ordered the remote on your video. Thank you for all the effort for posting this. The guy wasn't able to do it. What was the year and model your locksmith used to do this by any chance if u remember.
He had the program updates that included the 22’ model year. Some locksmiths only have up to 21’ models. I run in to that issue looking for local ones. Just makes sure the FCC number matches on the new remote compared to you original. And find a locksmith that can program 22’ models and you should be good.
I have a 2013 Honda Accord EX-L trim. It doesn’t come with a remote engine start button. How can I add this to my keyfob? Will this work? I’m curious if it will work in any year Accords. Thanks
Yes, it works with the 22’s. That was the same description when I ordered mine. They might argue with you when you order it from them that it won’t work on the 22’s but it will as long as the number i mentioned in the video match yours.
Do you have a spare fob still in the car? Also if you have remote started or attempted to remote start twice it makes you start the car normally before the function starts working again.
You can’t lock the car if it is still running after driving. The only time the car will lock from the remote while the car is running is when you use the remote start function. Honda allows you to use all remote functions when the car has been remote started but no functionality when in normal mode. You can get out of the car and use the physical key in the fob in the door lock to lock the car (turn to left) and then unlock (turn to right).
It’s not a factory programming issue that allows this to be done. Honda actually sells a factory conversion fob for the 18-21 models. It’s just they stopped offering the factory fob kit for the 22’s is the reason I did the video. If you follow the steps it will work the same for 18-21’s.
I have the exact same Honda and color I’m trying to figure out which of my tires need air on my 22 Honda Accord my tire pressure light keeps coming on but I don’t know which tire
You will need to check each one individually, Honda doesn’t use pressure sensors in the wheels. Make sure you pressure is set around 33 psi. The Honda tire pressure system uses functions from the traction control system to determine tire diameter to determine if all tires are the same pressure. When a tire starts going low the system will detect the difference in tire bloat diameter and trigger the pressure light. Usually that pressure is around 28 psi. If you have checked all the tires and the pressure is good go into the radio menu and reset the tire pressure warning system and it should be good to go. I have heard that you might have to reset multiple times to get it to fully clear. I had a low tire one time from a nail and the light didn’t reset until I reset the system.
When you get the 5 button programmed to the car you have the ability to program a total of 3 fobs to the car. I had the locksmith re program the 2 original remotes and the new 5 button remote for a total of 3. Keep in mind as a part of the programming they will have to have all remotes to be programmed and they will wipe all current fobs from the car and need to program all remotes back at the same time . It will only take about 10 mins.
To add more about the remote start key fob video. My local dealership in Long Island, NY will be installing the TCM module box (similar to what the Touring model comes with standard). This will FULLY enable my new car to connect with hondalink remote start features. I'll keep you posted after its installed March 10th and I subscribe to the monthly service plan for the first month.
So i got the TCM module box installed at a local Honda Service location off Sunrise Highway in Long Island, NY. The remote start module was actually installed by third-party vendor vetted by this Honda dealership (so the TCM module installed in my car was not the same for latest touring model in the market) smh 🤦♂️. I was disappointed when the service rep told me the opposite. At this point I said okay lets try it out. The second I turned on a car from the app which is called Linkr Mobile it had a very quick response. Now I walked up to the car to open up the door and of course the car shut off due to security measures built-in. I asked the service rep “Hey, I thought this was going to take over the push button start?!” the service rep told me he didn’t know it wouldn’t, and the third-party vendors had already left the dealership another red flag. I kept researching some more, and as of right now, no company has figured out “how to completely take over the entire system”. So to all the Honda hybrid owners with push start, we are still back to square one.
