I think because it would need to emty more ram when it gets full. Its also the reason games like minecraft run better with 4gb allocated ram than they do with 8+ gb(yes even with high render distance).
@@JFinnsjust not true, these test are done on clean pcs… let’s say you have discord, headphone software, steam, ghub, and a ton of other stuff running in the background… adds up, I needed 32, and I’ve seen it use as much at 22gb in games like rust, Dayz, and beamng
In a recent laptop release I saw usual gaming laptops in market provide a decent performance like the LOQ, Victus, predator helios neo 16, asus tuf. and these come with 16gb ram with 4060 110W. But a new Infinix laptop which has a much sleeker design and 4060 90W but 32 gb ram was performing much better that all other laptops cause ram was really making up for 15-20W less power gpu, even in some graphic intensive game.

@@lupinne3046system memory on left shows almost 15gb usage which would be correct for a system with 16gb ram, games will limit usage if less ram is available. Right shows almost 17gb usage which would be correct for a system with 32gb ram. Top is vram which is graphics card memory. Having 32gb ram doesn't mean that games will suddenly use all 32gb. I only noticed around 4gb extra usage when I moved from 16 to 32 and when I had 16gb no game would use all 16gigs, it was always hovering around 14-15gig usage no matter what settings I used. 17gig usage on the right would be impossible on a 16 gig system.
It's not, my cousin just build a budget PC with i5 13400f + rtx 4060ti 16gb version, and 32 RAM ddr4, few games we tested taking 10-14gb vram and over 16-17gb ram. I would never in 2024 buy a graphic card with only 8gb vram like a rtx 4060 which is only 8gigs, or a rtx 3070 which still has only 8 GB vram. Rtx 4070 is also crap with only 12gb RAM but enough for most games. Rtx 4060ti 16gb is the best choice now after the price just chilled down -100$ (center Europe).

Exact but 0.1% low is different (more lags on 16gb with the same fps)
0.1% low is worse with 32gb in some areas. Basically zero reason to upgrade if you already have 16GB even in late 2023.

There’s not a difference there in gaming performance, but the 32 GB ram can do a much better work at editing
Try playing tarkov on 16gb then switching to 32 like i did, huge difference in loading times and all stuttering went away instantly
