Props to Dodge - they really made a impressive Engine.
Chris is still my favorite mad scientist engineer artist who makes the rest of the world seem like it's moving too slow in comparison. My grandmother owned one of these and would be shocked to see this one were she around today.
Very kind words. Thank you. Will keep on trying to build cool stuff! 😁
your favorite artist, why? For destroying classic gems like this beautiful Dart? If your grandmother saw this destruction she would be very angry.
@@juanh7268 dude, my grandmother drank two six packs of Schlitz beer a day and chain smoked Chesterfields and Camel non-filters and loved hot rodds. She's have loved it.
Man that thing moves.... I love how calm Chris is completely ripping it up.
That "sewer 💩pipe" look of the rusty roll cage is the purest effect of nostalgia & badass'ry.
Hahahaha, sewer pipe! 🤘
Krusty Krab
Chis has to be the most regular guy builder would be a great guy to just hang out with and be just one of the guys ! Thank you Chris for sharing your passion for cars with the world !!! 👍🏻🇺🇸
Yes, Chris and Steve Strope would awesome company for cold beers and talkin s#it
BEASTLY! *Lawn Dart!* (looks like a fun backyard toy but is really lethal).
This build was definitely one of my favorite Gas Monkey episodes.
then you are just as stupid as them
Bad Ass! some mopar guys on here arguing about points vs electric ignition lmao. This dude is what mopar is all about.
Depends what type of mopar enthusiast you are I'm old school, we have 11 67 to 71 mopars from factory 318s to 418 wedge and the all mighty 426 500 HP is plenty for me
@@apocolypse11 Whatever get you down the road....
I had a bad run of Condensers failing me,
So I converted to Petronix...
9 years on the road...
I either got lucky or.. the new parts are crap...
Daily Driver 68 Dart Grandma special Slant6 to 318 swap...
My Lady has the twin, Still Slant6.. with Points distributor..
Mopar or Nothing
wait you're having a fox body built by Chris? omg omg,,,,, I loooooove fox bodies and built by Chris....... dreamy
It gets hot in SoCal! A non AC heat generation monster like that "daily" is real gear-head/artistic devotion! I love that Chris says "we" about the build every time. It's fun to work for a guy like that.
I had the same dart in high school (76) it had a whine too it was the axle bearing
Great Video> I ordered a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger with the 340 ( 2 dr hard top).I remember telling a guy who used to do some dray racing on an old ariport runway. I I was telling him that this thing really goes. He said, pop the hood, oh he says. you have the green motor. Usually they came with a red motor. He said the green motor is hotter than the red motor. I had just got married & started a family, so had to sell.. To this day i regreat selling it. I remember, i took it out one night & took to 115 miles per hour in 2nd gear. All i know is that thing was incredible fast.
Yet another amazing car, but made way i love it. Bare minimum of blink, and full focus on pure American Muscle fun! 🎉
Chris' Galaxie is still probably my favorite
Love these type build cars.. Drive and Enjoy! No Polish needed! .Don’t worry about getting in dirty or scratched at the shopping mall parking ha ha
Actually one of the better fast n loud builds.
Such a cool ride. But I didnt know Shaggy worked on cars. No wonder the Mystery Machine was so dope!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Never thought I'd see a red VL Commodore on this channel, cheers Shaun
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!!
Wow! My first car was a hand me down 63 Dodge Dart with a slant 6 and push button transmission. This build is 🔥.
thanks for explaining trans brake that's always been a mystery completely
Glad to see another of Chris's builds. He's one of the best with fresh ideas!
Had a 67 Dart GT. Medium Copper Metallic, originally had a 273 4bbl, with a 904 Trans, I installed a 340, Stl Crank, 10.5-1, ported and polished heads, LD4B intake, Hooker Super Comp Headers, Holly 750 dbbl pumper. Mancini Racing Kevlar Clutch pack, Manual Valve Body 727 with a 3g Stall Converter. 3.91 posi 8.75 rear with a relocated Super Comp Leaf Springs via Mancini kit, and adjustable Pinion Snubber.
Loved this GMG build, cool improvements to that. Love it!
Wow, your 273 sounds like it was awesome. My dad's 66 Coronet was born with a 273 and when I inherited it I rebuilt it but stock like it came from the factory. Still a 2bbl but with a mild Isky E-4 cam and stock compression. It's not fast but it's reliable. One day if I take it out again it will get high compression and a 4bbl.
Anything hellcat powered is a must watch
I love this car......takes me back to high school!
Absolutely SICK dart!! A Fox chassis built by the Ruffian team... I am ALL IN for that. I hope Detroit Speed does you right with an IRS setup
Wonderful, another great episode, I'll say it again you have some of the best camera people, keep on truckin.
This thing is SICK!!!
I love every car Chris Ashton touches
Nice! Thank you!
Loved seeing this GMG creation living its best life! Thanks😊
That Dart is the right amount of menacing 😄
Gotta love a Fast Ratty Dart, such a cool car
I'd call a Mr. Norm's '69 Dart GTS 440 desirable🤔
Love Chris and Ruffian. That’s a cool car, as a fan of Gas Monkey from back in the day I love it. If I was Chris I’d probably ditch the glide and go with a turbo 400 with a gear vendor for a 4 speed
Ain't nothing like the fun of that Hellcat motor when you get on the gas😂😂😂
Awesome to see the Gas Monkey Garage Hellcat Dart again, it's been layin low for a while, since that episode / build off really. Didn't think i'd be seein it again anytime soon, refreshing to see it again though. Glad its in the hands of someone who will give it the recognition it deserves. Chris seems like a really down to earth car guy. Great episode.
My Dodge Dart was nothing like this. But was fun to drive. Nostalgic and awesome ride👍🏻👍🏻
In Australia our version of this car is a pacer….it’s super collectible but only ever came out with a hemi 6. Awesome car but no shock when it’s owned by mr Ruffian
The talent this man and his team demonstrate is mind blowing!
Nice. Love what you did to it. Rock n Roll brother!
I really like this channel showing rough around the edges cars..... so much more meaningfull than the pristine gems that one rarely sees and never drives.... Excellent content. Well done!
This dudes mustang is awesome 👍 genius builder
No one imagined that little Dodge Dart being such a powerhouse in 1967.
But they should have!
First year for the Big K Member, which allowed larger Engine options to fit.. year after this... 68 HEMI Dart...
Until the Modern Demon.. it was the fastest Factory Car sold...
67, 68, 69.. my favorite gen, then 70-72..
At the time sold, they were looked past by most customers, due to the price point being to close to the B Body Mopars...
Daily Driver 68 Dart..
Cheers from Southern California 🇺🇸..
Mopar A Bodies Forever
So cool, Chris still loves the barebones classic hot rods. Looking forward to the build
Bad ass car!
Beautiful work with a beautiful car❤❤❤❤❤
So much knowledge on display. What a beaut
Super cool to see Chris from Ruffian again on the show guys...bringing all the fun!
Can't wait for more with the fox body job.
i love this. old school with new tech, looks and sounds awesome
Super pumped about a Ruffian built foxbody! Lets see this build
Thats 800hp allday with the longtubes. Badass car
Didn't think about those. Good point!
@chrisashton7133 love your work, love the daily. Enjoy your summer good sir. 🎉
Amazing. As usual. Much love. 🇬🇧

Love it!!
Such a rad episode!!! 🙌🏼
Cool Build!
Another cool car. Thanks Sean
Favorite car gas monkey built. And you made it so much better.
Chris rocks! Cool ride!
Very nice. Wish we had more shops like that here.
Impressive Garage as well!
Brilliant!
What a crazy build. That big hellcat motor in that basically a shell of a car. I love it.
Always love DODGE DART
That is absolutely insane!
Absolutely love this car. very cool.
Very hype for the Foxbody series!! I really miss my car and can't wait to see what you guys do with the car!
The sound of this car is effin’ brilliant. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Wow shawn badddd ass car man as usual man thanks look forward to each video 📹 😮
Dd speed shop said hi 😂
This is so cold blooded and I have talked about doing this swap before, alot!!! I'm wanting to build one too I really really like this build.... It goes hard bro.
Like the Dude stated.. it's actually easier now...
Single wiring harness, engine mounts, etc...
To swap into a (A Body) ..
@@AtZero138 I'm going to look into this and start planing it out
Awesome car and I can’t wait to see the fox body!
Gas Monkey Garage is one of my favorites on youtube .. I wish they would get back to more restorations and restomods, but hes more into flipping now.
That thing is sick
Wow, my first car was a hand me down Dodge Dart slant 6 with a 63 with a push button transmission. This build is 🔥.
Awesome!
Been a fan of this channel for a good while, awesome that we swill be seeing your car on here. Cant wait, I like ALL classics 79' or older but im a Ford guy first a foremost, cant wait to see that Foxbody my favorite of all mustang models.
Will have my own classic custom rod one day watch and see.
My dream truck is a 72' - 74' F100 shortbed 2WD.
But I have other ideas/alternatives in-mind also.
Wow just wow 👌
Cool build ..well done all .love it 😊
I do love a modern motor in an old car it must take a lot of the hassle of breaking parts out the way .
Keep well everyone.
Bad ass !!!! Speechless 💯🔥
.......BEAUTIFUL.
My favs are the roadster shop, and Steve strope
Ooo, and some sizzle. So exciting
When Shaggy build a Dart 😂 what a sick ride! Love it
1987 Allstate Safe Driver 😂😂
So Cool
Awsome car gotta love the A body DART hellcat sounds sweet
love that car!
Good to see the Shart Cat. ❤
Ok, I think that this was a perfect match. Car is actually very cool. The craftsmanship is excellent. The not restored look is very appealing to me.
The ease of doing burn outs. Has the look of driving on " ICE " . So that's very important to the cool factor. I'm all in brother?!!!
Now that is the ultimate in tuffness!
Mopar A Bodies Forever 🇺🇸
Most talented car customizer out there. Ruffian Rules
I was initially disappointed it wasn't Richard or better still Aaron, but then I saw it was Chris and was even happier :)
Can’t wait for the mustang
Hi Shawn Hi Chris Great Video Thank You 🙏
My absolute dream car!!
Can’t WAIT to see that Fox!!
Hey,, IF Chris Aston is impressed,, WHO could possibly be unimpressed with the job Gas Monkey did when they put together this little Dart. Personally I am a fan of the MoPar V8 Dart's. I bought a 1970 Dart Swinger off the showroom floor that year and loved it. Like a fool I traded it off in '73 for a Polara wagon to haul our 3 kids around but never forgot that little 340 single 4bbl, TorqueFlight beast and all the street races I won with it.
Chris looks like Shaggy from Scooby Doo only he's smart af.
Love the dart
