I feel like this team can pull a Sacramento and just trade their good young assets and STILL resign Cade. If he wants out of Detroit while we're gathering assets and developing young talent (Which is what we should have been doing but haven't) THEN you can trade him. Just build around Cade and look for 2 way players not just shooters. I'd love for us to fire Monty and hire Chris Quinn to bring that Miami Heat Culture here to Detroit and focus on developing guys.

Valenti is an idiot - players don’t always come out of the gate blazing from 3, these dudes are YOUNG and Cade has gotten better every year. They need vets who can score and know how to win, so these young guys can learn and not be relied upon to get the Ws themselves.
Cade’s shooting shouldn’t be a concern, he attributed a lot of his early struggles to his season ending injury last year and just put up 35% this season (same as Jaylen Brown). You can call him injury prone but he’s had one year cut short to season ending surgery and plays 5-10 games less a season because we’re tanking for a pick. You 100% extend him and try to build a viable roster around him
I don't disagree with extending him but be honest... we were NOT tanking the last few games. We were just that bad and Cade was battling an knee injury the last 20ish games.
Sure, resign Cade, but not at the max. Like $175 over 5. Max $ = difference-maker $. He hasn’t earned that. We’re just as terrible with him vs without him

If it means dishing cade, which I'm high on him, do what it takes or find a stretch big like him. Trade up in draft for risacher. It was clear with the +/- having moscala and galinari the proof that running a stretch big makes all the difference and they weren't even that good.

Only thing I agree with is Cade’s injury history is concerning. He proved last year that he will be a great player.
