Funny, you mentioned that with gores. That's all's left as a landfill. Half billion dollars stadium. What a joke. How could you waste a 1/2 billion dollars? Wasted for a hockey arena. For a home. I mean, no home.
Great question, I actually agree with Valenti that Tigers have the brighter future simply because of the pitching. Now if they trade Skubal for more prospects than the Pistons but I dont see that happening.
Probably the Pistons, Gores for all his faults is more then happy to spend money to make things happen, if Langdon is that guy at GM and they can get a competent Coach AND it doesn’t take a lot for an NBA team to be good with three or four very good players, Pistons could be up quickly. I wouldn’t be shocked if they go by the Wings given Chris Illitch owns them too and hates spending money
And then when the guy the Pistons get in a Cunningham trade isn't shooting 40% from beyond the arc in his first 10 games with the team, Valenti will call for him to be traded. Seriously, who gives a damn what Mike Valenti thinks? He's so obnoxious.
As of today this moment... probably the pistons lmao the tigers are in purgatory and baseball without it's salary cap makes getting out of purgatory MUCH HARDER. Honestly, i think the pistons have a better future just because there's more parody in basketball and it's easier to get better in basketball with the draft
Oh it’s the Tigers!! the Pistons are going to be in the doghouse for a very long time If the Tigers king get a few wins together they’re not out of the playoff race at all that much
It's definitely the Tigers.. Pistons dug themselves so deep, that I don't see anything from them for another of years.. Tigers just needs to open up the damn checkbook!! Come on Chris Illitch!! .. you don't wanna be in Tom Gores shoes!
Woo, you get an actual chance once every 5 games. If they don't shop him to the orioles for 2, 3 of their top 10 including Heston or their top tier catcher in the wings Harris is trash. They should've gotten Heston for erod last year but Harris tried trading him to a team he knew he wouldn't go to. Skubal will get you a kings ransom. Harris' job is to make that happen. Don't get a Franklin Perez in return, get a young explosive bat
It's almost a daily thing now that they say "I was listening to Cookies and I liked this topic..." and then they re-use it. Is Cookies that much of a genius? Or are these guys just getting lazy?
Good point. It's almost like with all of Costa's great ideas for topics he should be on this show rather than the mornings when less people listen. Crazy concept I know.
@@CJM23What actually has been proven is that payroll is a huge factor in winning a World Series. Is it the only factor? Of course not - but other things being equal (front office, manager, etc.) - payroll wins. Look at the WS winner every year for the last 20 or 30 years and what is their average payroll rank in MLB? Probably top 7, at least.
The Tigers had Pudge Rodriguez, Magglio, Ordonez, Gary Sheffield, Prince Fielder, Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez, Max Scherzer, Kenny Rogers, Justin Verlander, Placido Polanco, Carlos Guillen, Curtis Granderson and all kinds of big names, and didn't get a ring. I don't get why fans don't hate that worse than this team. We had big names many times and it never worked, and they were stuck with the contracts for years. It looks like the owner learned his lesson and is going to the youth movement like the Tigers did in the late 70's.
@@bigfellamike1913 The tigers are for sure disappointing but they have a top 5 farm system in baseball and one of the best assets in Skubal. The Pistons have absolutely nothing and it's way harder to rebuild in basketball
He's loaded with bad takes. Saying that a team, which lost 28 in a row and is practically starting over is better off than a team that is already elite on 1 side of the ball is crazy. Even the argument that the Pistons will spend is dumb since nobody wants to play here. Another classic take by Rico Beard.
Pistons.. by far.. Cade is a star.. Monty was a TERRIBLE COACH.. he didn't develop his players..ppl seen to forget these players are 20/21/22 yrs old. Trading Cade would be DUMB... like extremely DUMB.
Its easy to just give up on everyone, but dumb to trade them at rock bottom value. Monty ruined everyone but Cades value last year and Langdon is going to make sure priority #1 is developing and boosting our assets.
A landfill has a brighter future than the Pistons

After that Pistons press conference? Tigers.
Remember when Valenti wanted Ben Simmons
Baseball is much easier to break through. It just took Tatum & Brown 7 years to win a ring.
He said turn it around not winning it all
Good points by Rico. 2 or 3 players can really help an NBA team.

What makes you think so? The last decade, the disaster to tear Down the beautiful palace. What going on here?

Tigers if you don’t trade Skubal, top 10 pitcher in baseball when healthy, at least you have a star an ace.

Pistons have a brighter future no doubt.
I've been here for 10 years.
The brightest thing about the pistons was destroyed. The palace now there are A team without a leader or a home.
1st Mike says 14 & 24 is no difference then the notion of 36 wins is an improbable leap due to the coming from 14 in 1yr.
Its the Pistons i dont believe Chris Illich will ever spend money to improve the team at least Gores spends money
Spending money doesn't make a winning team. It has been proved numerous times in recent history.
@@CJM23well when the Tigers organization can’t develop hitters they absolutely have to spend money and get some bats

Pistons are hopeless. Tigers at least have 8-10 arms under the age of 30 you can count on.

Tom Gores needs to sell the team
Rico is brain dead lol
Need whole new everything tigers an infected hospice patient
Rico is awful. Who agrees?
Does Rico have the stupidest takes in sports ??
I think he's correct here 100% Tigers are helpless for the next 10 years ESPECIALLY when he brought up owner spending
