I think the biggest problem most have is they mix redbull and after 1 or 2 hours go for a coffee. We overdo caffeine and all the sugars. I drink 1 red bull and the rest is water. perfectly fine.
Same. I start my day with a Red Bull, then I work at finishing a gallon of water through the rest of the day. I do a soda every once in a while if I eat out, but mostly water.
I love Red Bull - a quick burst of energy when you need it - so much better than plain old water. - and of course it mixes well with vodka. The problem is of course when you mix it with vodka, it gives you wings, but you're likely to crash into the wall after you drink it.

It’s important to watch the recommended intake of things like caffeine and sugar 😉. Red Bull is a good pick-me-up, but too much can have negative effects!
I only drank RedBull or other brands once. I was not as expected. I even felt a lot of accumulated energy when it was my prom I couldn't stand still. After that I never drank it again.
Red Bull definitely benefited my cognitive focus before I got treatment for my adhd in my mid/late 20’s. Sadly cannot drink it often anymore though. Sometimes I just miss the tartness of it.
At 1:12 it is said that 80 mg of caffeine is “less than [in] your typical cup of coffee”. Yet, in the image the coffee cup is labeled as having “< 80 mg”, which implies that there is less caffeine content in the cup. Am I seeing this wrong?
7:34 even if it is, it doesn't change the fact that it can ruin your life by being addicted, an example is Dave Mirra, the famous racer committed suicide by shooting himself in the head from an overdose
I normally drink 5 energy drinks a day. I am highly active physically, i do brick laying and building. Without energy drinks i battle to keep up with my work. Two major side effects are the effect it has on my teeth, and my friends say i am getting fat. My cardiovascular health is fine. I usually drink 2 monsters, and three other brands. One flavor of switch brand (Turkish delight) gave me kidney pain. Otherwise i think energy drinks are fine. I don't drink alcohol or take other drugs. I sleep normally. I feel its necessary for high productivity in my job.
It is not recommended to consume more than one energy drink per day. Consuming 5 energy drinks per day is excessive and can lead to a number of negative health effects. Energy drinks contain high levels of caffeine and other stimulants, which can cause symptoms such as increased heart rate, high blood pressure, and insomnia, as well as more serious effects such as heart attack, stroke and even death in some cases. Additionally, consuming excessive amounts of sugar and artificial ingredients can lead to weight gain and other health problems. It's important to be mindful of the amount of energy drinks you consume and to always follow the recommended serving sizes on the packaging. It's better to consult with a healthcare professional or a dietitian if you have any concern regarding your caffeine intake.
Caffeine pills are a convenient and easy way to consume caffeine, The recommended daily dose of caffeine is 400mg, which is equivalent to about 4 cups of brewed coffee, depending on the strength of the coffee beans. Consuming more than this amount can cause symptoms such as increased heart rate, high blood pressure, and insomnia. Caffeine pills can also cause serious side effects such as seizures, heart attack or stroke if consumed in high doses.
I tried this once while I was on a long drive. Even though I bought the small can and only drank half (it tasted awful), I felt VERY jittery and nauseated. I poured out the other half and had to wait a long while for the effects to wear off. >_
@Michael Richichi - You make a substance called "anti-diuretic hormone" that encourages your body to hang onto water to prevent dehydration. Stuff like beer and caffeinated drinks suppresses the manufacture of A-D.H. turning you into Niagara Falls. Ever hear the old saying "you don't buy beer, you just rent it"? In other words, you diurese. The same goes for caffeine. ---------------- Check any college-level physiology textbook. Maybe Wikipedia mentions it under anti-diuretic hormone or caffeine. This is why beer and caffeine-containing drinks are very poor choices for athletes, anyone at risk for dehydration, or someone on a long car trip.
Caffeine does nothing to me (I have ADHD, might be why) so I occassionally have energy drinks literally as a treat because I love the taste. Definitely wouldn’t recommend to drink them every day like some people do but I think from time to time it’s fine.
3:39 Really, what's the point of this video if you don't list all your sources: papers that argue in favor of either side? You could list them in the description so viewers can see for themselves the quality of the sources and consequently claims.
80mg is quite a lot. A double caffeinated can of coffee over here states 68 mg of coffee. That is supposed to be a real booster. My problem with red bull is first I don't like the taste. Second I love coffee and tea. Both of which without sugar. So basically there is no place in my diet for red bull.
You've missinpterpreted things badly. Espresso is considered the strongest caffinated brew of coffee (by oz). A single cup of coffee which is 8.0oz (95mg of caffine) has more caffine than a shot of espresso (63mg of caffine), but the espresso shot is one jugger or 1.5oz. The confusion you are experiencing is because espresso BASED drinks which can be 8oz - 16oz still only contain 1 or 2 espresso shots, then are mixed with fillers and flavorants. A single shot mixed espresso, even if it's a 16oz drink, still only has one shot of espresso, so is only 63mg of caffine in a 16oz drink. Two shots are 126mg of caffine. While redbull (8.5oz) has 80mg of caffine, and a cup of coffee (8.0oz) has 93mg of caffine. Oz for oz redbull does indeed have less caffine, coffee would have more per oz, and PURE espresso would have the most caffine per oz. You buying those items sold as coffee energy drinks is largely just marketing. A simple brewed cup of coffee is generally going to be the most caffine per oz a person will drink. THis is often an issue though, considering people drink multiple cups, where-as, with energy drinks or mixed coffee drinks people tend to drink one, making them generally safer.
Taurine is produced for companies like Red Bull and other energy drink manufacturers through a process called chemical synthesis. This process involves the use of various chemicals and raw materials to create taurine in a laboratory setting. Typically, the process begins with the use of a precursor chemical such as sulfonic acid, which is then combined with other chemicals and catalysts to create taurine. The process can be done through different routes, for example, the most common route is using sulfonic acid and ethylene oxide, and other routes use aziridine and cysteine. The resulting taurine is then purified, dried and packaged for use in energy drinks and other products. The taurine that is used in energy drinks is considered to be safe and is generally recognized as safe by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
there's energy in your body thats usually held up in reserve, and that definitely gets "unlocked" by caffeine. considering pure caloric intake, you are correct, but thats not everything about a diet.

Me having around 400mg of caffeine on a regular day and still feeling exhausted pointing at the people getting energy from a Red Bull: Haha, losers!
Also me realising that in the end the only loser is me for needing too much caffeine just to be arguably awake: Takes a sip of the 6th cup of coffee for today.
So this field of "engineering" (?) packaged food, drinks, etc, what is it exactly called? What would be the title of somebody who researches on this?
The field of engineering that deals with the production, preservation, packaging, and distribution of food and beverages is called Food Engineering or Agricultural Engineering. It combines the principles of engineering, food science, and microbiology to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of food products.

Alright! Thanks haha, it's one of those industries like pharma which remain quite... "Insider" if you get what I mean
Wonder if there's ways to learn more about it without the fancy languages
Please make more content like this, love this
Ive used redbull as a preworkout. It was decent. Ive taken literal chemical mixures and pushed my body pretty far. So drinking a redbull during or before i feel like its not dangerous unless youre about to run a marathon
I prefer the taste of redbull over any other ones but whenever I get one I just sip on it throughout the day
I love watermelon red bull, and it makes me feel great… not jittery like coffee… am I the outlier? Lol
The profit margin on this product is something that makes All other beverage companies green with envy. It's truly an ATM of product marketing. I'll just have a cup of coffee and save the difference for my retirement, thank you.
I buy them in the 24pks and pay less for one redbull than you do for a coffee (about $0.89 USD). :)
Redbull doesn't give me energy.. it gives me wings
TLDR, it gives you wings
watching this while drinking Red Bull. cheers!
Here in Brazil we're informed that Redbull has 1000mg of Taurine per 250 ml
10:50 You say that like it's a bad thing
11:13 I like mixing Sparkling Ice with alcohol.
Love this series
I like this Series.
Great video, thanks, I learned a lot!
Finally some mainstream youtube channel that actually tells that aspartame is safe!
Red Bull and Vodka. Top Drink and In Thailand it concentrated and very nice 👍
My Redbull can says the following per 100ml: Energy 193kJ (45kcal), Protein 0g, Carbohydrate 11g, Total sugar 11g, Fat 0g, Sodium 0.04g, Niacin 8mg, Pantothenic Acid 2mg, B6 2mg, B12 2ug. Caffeine 32mg and Taurine 400mg.
Red Bull is actually tame compared to many other drinks out there.
Whenever he asks if it gives you energy, I always get disappointed it's not wings.
Sugar gives you energy (calories ARE energy), caffeine is just a stimulant. Also ignoring the effect of blood sugar. Have you never been tired when doing mental work and sweet drink or a snack fixed it?
Plague - Using sugar as a pick-me-up has a downside - it spikes your blood-sugar, sure, but it can crash just as quickly, leaving you sleeping with your face on your keyboard.
I like this series
I drank one before a game of squash. I thought I was going to have heart attack 🤣🤣🤣
11:35, 17 years in life and haven't drink a sip :v don't know tho, I always was curious. they are very expensive here by the government's will. just to avoid consumers buying it
It’s important to watch the recommended intake of things like caffeine and sugar 😉. Red Bull is a good pick-me-up, but too much can have negative effects!
I only drank RedBull or other brands once. I was not as expected.
I even felt a lot of accumulated energy when it was my prom I couldn't stand still. After that I never drank it again.
It makes me go *BRRRRRRRR* and then gives me a headache....
Red Bull definitely benefited my cognitive focus before I got treatment for my adhd in my mid/late 20’s.
Sadly cannot drink it often anymore though. Sometimes I just miss the tartness of it.
I hate when I am in the middle of writing a comment and the video answers the question I was in the middle of writing... Happens way too often.
the Australian cans have taurine listed at 0.4%
Which is miniscule. The scientific studies on taurine sometimes have people taking as much as 4-8 grams per day.
The zero sugar Red Bull is much better IMO, tastes sweeter in a nice way. The original is too sour for me
Same
Good to know for when I buy you red bull the next time
I wonder what will happen to those cans in the background
I don't care what anyone says, i'll keep avoiding artificial sweeteners. The stuff gives me headaches.
Great video, lovely host and nice knowledge
But Does it cause any damage to the kidneys?
12:16
Great video!
At 1:12 it is said that 80 mg of caffeine is “less than [in] your typical cup of coffee”. Yet, in the image the coffee cup is labeled as having “< 80 mg”, which implies that there is less caffeine content in the cup. Am I seeing this wrong?
They didn't utilize the "< >" symbols correctly. There is an average of 93mg of caffine in a brewed cup of coffee though.
My co worker drank Red Bull with 5 hours energy . He end up in ER😊
Caffeine pills can also cause serious side effects such as seizures, heart attack or stroke if consumed in high doses.
get zevia or something else. the tastes can be very addictive
They say that Red Bull gives you "wings". No it don't!
Red Bull gives you BACK ROLLS! 😅
-Bianca Del Rio
Good video 👍
what if red bull wants to launch a new flavor so which one you will pick?
I tried this once while I was on a long drive. Even though I bought the small can and only drank half (it tasted awful), I felt VERY jittery and nauseated. I poured out the other half and had to wait a long while for the effects to wear off. >_
How much did Red Bull pay for this ad? I understand you're taking us through the ingredients, etc, but why you gotta put 4 rows of 32 cans behind you?
that was carefully planned product placement! 👍
GURU ENERGY DRINK > Redbull/Monster/Rockstar
Cheers from San Diego California
You have Guru in California? I didn't even know it was sold outside of the province of Quebec.
Okay but why does it help me with my back pain?
You made a comment about caffeine being a diuretic; will you please cite your source(s)?
@Michael Richichi - You make a substance called "anti-diuretic hormone" that encourages your body to hang onto water to prevent dehydration. Stuff like beer and caffeinated drinks suppresses the manufacture of A-D.H. turning you into Niagara Falls. Ever hear the old saying "you don't buy beer, you just rent it"? In other words, you diurese. The same goes for caffeine.
----------------
Check any college-level physiology textbook.
Wow I didn't know that caffeine doesn't affect people with ADHD. Thanks for the info 👍🏻
@Abrar Baig Yeah, It makes us sleepy instead of alertness.
Maybe you guys could do Soylent Green next? The real-life version, not the movie stuff. Although...
3:39 Really, what's the point of this video if you don't list all your sources: papers that argue in favor of either side? You could list them in the description so viewers can see for themselves the quality of the sources and consequently claims.
don't know why i'm watching this, don't drink any energy beverage or caffeine.
Can you drink this if you lactose intolerance??
In your own video you say taurine comes from bull seamen and ox bile. Which contradicts what your said. Almost a good take
Taurine is produced for companies like Red Bull and other energy drink manufacturers through a process called chemical synthesis.
He keeps talking about "energy" but there's no energy in caffeine. The real energy is the sugar.
there's energy in your body thats usually held up in reserve, and that definitely gets "unlocked" by caffeine. considering pure caloric intake, you are correct, but thats not everything about a diet.
Red Bull was first Developed in Thailand to help those busy Travelers with their Heroic Journey down Walking Street, and to keep those Farangs coherent enough try to understand those sexy Thai girls and help enhance their Performance in the Bedroom later. 😁
Wait, I'm confused. Here in the Netherlands it only has 32mg of caffeine and 11 grams of sugar in that same size can.
@Ahnaf But I really mean it's the same size can, same 8.4oz/250ml as in the video
this is per 100ml, same here in the Czech republic
@Matej Osvald Ah of course!
I always liked Sobe better. Too bad I can’t find the stuff anymore. It tastes so much better.
Do Soylent! Please!
The editing was a bit slow and choppy but I like the series
Aspartame gives me horrible migraines
"You know your body"
about that... 😅
