They love Kaiju Monsters and a Genre much more popular back then on Japanese television than now. Not Unexpected at all. For those curious, After Man was book that depicted what animals far in the future may look like, and this is a japanese only documentary based on it. Think of it as the predecessor to the future is wild.
@@1fishmob it's a speculative biology book which is about evolution of hypothetical future descendants of animals that would have survived the holocene mass extinction, just like "After Man" and "The Future is Wild". Unfortunaly, the book is only avaible in french, but it doesn't prevent the book from having scientically plausible but creative hypothetical future animals like gliding centipedes, predatory flightless parrots or whale-like neotenic frogs.
I want someone to do an English version of this documentary one day (and no, The Future is Wild doesn't count since it is a different speculative evolution documentary).
3:32-4:37 is the Flooer segment🦇🌺🦋 I love that you used the eating sound from Minecraft for the Flooer eating a butterfly, it’s kinda random but cute at the same time.

If anything Humans will evolve to different sub species and we will eventually hunt each other for food and we will for sure evolve to different type of niches and forms. It would be so interesting to see what humans have become in 500k years
If it were me, I would have done one where the crocodile would evolve to the point where it would have the speed and agility like it's ancestor the Kaprosuchus. It had long legs, still the same bit force, and another weapon to protect itself a spike tail (similar to the Stegosaurus).
After man and the book man after man are really interesting I would argue that man after my own is a better book, because speculative fiction about animals anything is possible whereas a book about the future of humanity takes a little bit more work
The rodent that the bat descendant caught and killed should've kept quiet as not to alert predators that could be nearby. It's squeaking annoyed me to be honest.
Been a while since I read the book, but I was a bit puzzled that the rodent was even *there*. Wasn't the point of the bat-ruled islands that no land vertebrates managed to make it there, and bats colonized it before the birds could?
Why does the desert leaper have such a deep voice? It sounds like it'd have to be the size of a hippo or an entelodon. Aren't those guys supposed to only be a couple of meters long in the book?
@@tenyearsinthejoint1 I didn't say when the footage was made. I stated that it was a good example of early 1950's animation. Strange to choose puppets and stop animation when today's technology is available so cheap.

I swear all the creatures look goofy as hell but still somehow make sense
They look like realistic creatures from the game Spore. 😊
It really makes you reconsider how goofy our animals are, like ant eaters or aye-ayes

It feels weird without the 2000s rock music
Love the addition of the score from Walking with Dinosaurs.
