It is late September, the fish are getting ready to spawn soon and the season closes in less than a week....can Colin catch a trophy trout on a fly? The only thing which would be better would be being there. Great trout and scenery. Thanks from down-under in NZ.

    Great show Colin! Absolutely love Algoma country and the drone shots were awesome! That's a wonderful area for remote canoe tripping and fishing especially in the fall. No bugs and usually nice temps. Take care!

    I love Fall fishing especially in still water. I fished a beaver pond in Utah in early November and it started snowing those big, puffy flakes and not a breath of wind. It was eerily quiet, almost surreal. I was catching fat rainbows which helped but it was an incredible experience nonetheless.

      Thanks for sharing that great story. Sounds like it was a magical time, another reason why we love to fly fish.

    Great job.........nice fish...........but I have to ask, why do you face the back of the canoe when fishing from the bow? Looks like it makes everything more difficult, especially for the guy in the stern.

      Good question. It had more to do with the cameraman who was following in another canoe and my casting towards him. To that, it was also cramped in the bow of the canoe where my legs went so it was easier to swivel and cast facing to the back

    Are there any native brook trout and native reproduction or are the brook trout only hatchery released brook trout?

    • @newflyfisher
      @newflyfisher  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe some of the lakes only have native trout as well as some river. In the main lake, it is all native fish.

      Thanks for your feedback Shane. We shoot our shows based on provincial zone regulations. Early September here, the angling season for Brook trout is open.
