Sunday 4/28/2024 - Michigan trout opener this coming weekend (Saturday). My buddy is working so we delayed it a week. 25+ years. Same guys. Same jokes. We fish the small streams. If we catch 2 or 3 8-inchers (or better), it's a good weekend. But, several years ago, at another stream, on the trout closer, we slayed the brookies (a catch of about a dozen 10-12" brookies amongst three of us). One of these years (before I die), I want to hit N. Ontario or Newfoundland & Labrador. Great video. Thank you. sw

Great video as always. Nipigon River is on my to-fish-list. I really should get on it, it's only a 3 hour drive from my home. Plenty of stocked lakes here in NW Ontario.

Unfortunately, as a brook trout fisherman I grew up in Wisconsin, the DNR and TU have decided that rough fish like the white sucker is not beneficial to a brook trout stream and have removed the white suckers and other "rough fish" from our brook trout streams. The DNR and TU call it science because of a study done in Maine how white suckers were supposedly detrimental to a brook trout lake. The DNR and TU in Wisconsin are not knowledgeable about what brook trout greater than 10 inches need in their food chain.

Tell Colin to tighten his drag and just get the fish in. I understand you’re making video for views, but to reel in line then just immediately let it go and let the drag sound, it’s a bit dramatic.

Good show. But adds every 4 minutes? Uhhg!

Evey fish is a "good fish". A bit overly dramatic. And way too much advertising.

    Beautiful fish!
BTW it's a brook trout, not brook TROOT. (also not oot, aboot, through-oot, etc) LOL
