I was forced to memorize a new scripture every week since before I was five. I was told had the gift of 'discerning of spirits', by multiple pastors and preachers and even visiting missionaries. And yet... I never 'spoke in tongues'... I prayed every single night. Guess what? It's a lie. Now that I've left the church, I can not only quote scriptures around you, I can tell you when they were historically edited. The Council of Trent should give you all the answers you need, but suffice to say, men in power use ancient doctrines to control them. Never mind than majority of the books written in the Bible were written hundreds of years after Christ existed, by people who never knew him. Also, all the Hebrew books that were left out of the New King James version and New International versions of the bible left out several books including ones where Jesus took a wife in Mary Magdalene. Suffice to say, the church is full of shit. Argue with me all you want, I know all your arguments before you make them because at some point in my life, I made them too. Until I didn't. I am not gay, but I love gay people. I am not black, but I agree that black lives matter. I am not an immigrant, but I benefit from them. This nation was built on RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.
