Zapet-Alvarado initially showed no signs of stopping, even after Trooper Duncan activated her emergency lights and sirens. After stopping his vehicle on the right shoulder, Trooper Duncan instructed Zapet-Alvarado to exit the vehicle. Trooper Duncan observed Zapet-Alvarado with his hand on the gearshift and stopped him from driving away in the vehicle by taking his keys. He ignored commands to exit the vehicle and resisted Trooper Duncan’s efforts to remove him. She deployed her taser when he refused to comply. Zapet-Alvarado wrestled the Trooper’s taser from her hands and threw it into interstate traffic. During the incident, Zapet-Alvarado kicked Trooper Duncan’s head multiple times. Kylie Sutton, 31, of Rogers witnessed the altercation and tried to assist Trooper Duncan. The Trooper used her service weapon to fire one round at Zapet-Alvarado, wounding him in the right temple. He continued to resist arrest and refused Trooper Duncan’s instructions to get on the ground. Zapet-Alvarado was transported to Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas, where he was treated and released to law enforcement. Toxicology results indicate his blood-alcohol was .16 and that cannabinoids were present. He was transported to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he remains. He was placed on hold for Homeland Security Investigation (HSI). Trooper Duncan was treated for non-life-threatening injuries she sustained when Zapet-Alvarado assaulted her.
The answer to your question is: *YES* _“(…)Angel Zapet-Alvarado, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala”_ LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Today, Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders slammed Vice President Harris and President Joe Biden for their creation of the worst border crisis in American history and hailed two women as heroes for their quick action to stop an illegal immigrant who refused arrest and assaulted an ASPTrooper. Last night, a female Trooper engaged a suspect, Angel Zapet-Alvarado, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, after he was speeding on I-49, who refused to exit the vehicle and resisted the Trooper’s efforts to remove him. A female motorist who witnessed the altercation stopped her vehicle and assisted the Trooper. “These two women who put their lives on the line to make sure their communities are safe, are heroes and thanks to their quick, brave action, a criminal illegal immigrant is in custody and off the streets. Even though they deny it and the media covers it up, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have created the worst border crisis in history and they must be held responsible,” said Gov. Sanders. “I pray every day for the safety of our Troopers as they sacrifice their own safety for the sake of our innocent civilians. I thank God today that He kept our Trooper alive and that He placed an unbelievably brave civilian by her side during her time of need,” said Col. Mike Hagar. “I have the same fear and frustration any time someone assaults one of our Troopers, but it’s even more disturbing that this suspect is an undocumented, illegal immigrant from Guatemala. That shows another level of lawlessness that will not be tolerated in our state.” Zapet-Alvarado was transported to Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas, where he was treated and released to law enforcement. He was transported to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and charged with Second-Degree Battery and placed on hold for Homeland Security Investigation (HSI). Additional charges are pending. The Trooper was treated for non-life-threatening injuries she sustained when Zapet-Alvarado assaulted her. ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the incident.
She was way overmatched even with multiple taser deployment. Training would tell her to wait for backup before opening that door. Stronger LEOs would have waited before engagement. Way overmatched.
27 years as a Texas Highway Patrolman and I say she started this problem from her first contact. Absolutely the wrong way to approach a violator and she is very fortunate she was not killed.
@@johnwayne3101 So if she ran his plates after she stopped she would have known that. Or if she waited for additional officers and conducted a high risk stop there would have either not been a fight or they would have had overwhelming force.
He was driving 112 mph. He was also twice the legal limit for booze and he was also smoking pot. She pulled him out, because he was attempting to take the car out of park. She fought him to keep him from hurting someone else. Read the video description before making comments brother.

her and her brave lady hero by stander person who ran up to help her fight off a drunk.... what is really happening??? is there something in the water?
It appears HQ saw what was going on and how do you call for back up you only have two hands. The blame should be on the criminal not always on the police
Her intentions are good but that was beyond stupid/foolish. Too many women watching marvel movies thinking they can "help". She is lucky she wasn't killed
@@mrpops09 What does that have to do with Marvel movies? Helping doesn't mean they want to become fictional characters, it means they are human beings. What's stupid"/foolish" is standing by to record a video for an endless loop to get a momentary reward.
She attacked without warning, repeatedly tased him while he asked questions, was physically unable to handcuff a small man, and nearly killed him AND the good samaritan.
Hold on a second... Did she just walk up like the terminator and flat-out open the door of the car stopped without any verbal commands or safety procedures? Even that guy who wasn't much of a problem gave her hell. Imagine a really dangerous man?
This crazy lady cop is insane she is zapping the driver inside his car. She yanked the door open and crawled in on the driver zapping as she went. 😮 Crazy woman . 😮
I am a retired police officer and after watching this video I am appalled at how Trooper Duncan handled this situation. I have been in several high speed chases and yes they do get the adrenalin flowing. Being a police officer you have to be able to contain and control your emotions, because if you don't you end up like this officer as she completely lost control of this traffic stop. Firstly at no time did I hear her tell her headquarters or the 911 Center that she was in pursuit of this vehicle nor did she give them the description of the vehicle nor did she give them the license plate number to anyone. Her approach to the vehicle was completely wrong, jerking the car door open and grabbing the driver and dragging him our onto the pavement was totally uncalled for. Had she approached the vehicle and driver in the proper manner the use of her taser and her side arm could have been completely avoided. If this person is still employed as an Arkansas State Police Officer she is very fortunate because if I were her supervisor I would have had to recommend that she be terminated.
No she wasn’t! He was driving 114! She didn’t want him taking off and killing people trying to run! That’s why she opened the door and tried to pull him out off the jump! Even throwing his keys first chance she got! She did a grate job! Probably saved an innocent family coming home from school!
To the lady that decided to help ....... THANKS ! It takes a massive amount of courage to jump into an unknown situation to help someone you don't know ! Much appreciated and respect !
If it was a male cop and the felony stop was conducted properly, that guy wouldn't have got shot. She needs to be charged. Taze me for no reason like that and there will be a bigger fight.
@@speakthetruth110 There could be several unknown mitigating circumstances why the trooper acted out of norm. There were a few obvious and incidental possible reasons. The overall delay in stopping and the item the trooper threw from the perp during the first minute of contact. I'm not saying this is fact...just pointing out noticeable observations....jeez it could just be down to time of month for trooper. That said, and with current losses of LEO's and piss poor federal support, things should have gone more controlled but saying all that...we wouldn't be discussing all this if perp was a law abiding responsible citizen - if it wasn't for his refusal to be detained he wouldn't be shot or tazed...that's factual.
This cop ignored all of her training and procedures, and almost paid a very heavy price for doing so. Nowhere does it say you should walk up to a car, and immediately pull open the door without saying a word. Stupid stupid stupid.
You are exactly right. Everything she did was against protocol right from the start. She didn't even fingerprint the car before going in. Policing ain't for everyone.
@@gotham61 confused. She was a state trooper. He knew this because he finally pulled over. He didn’t speak English. She probably didn’t know that but I’m sure she got a return on his plates from dispatch.
Correct. Long past time to make sure we have 2 cops per patrol car, always. Period. My grandfather was a cop in the 1940s(during the war) and 1950s. You have to have a partner. Makes everything safer. Bad guys less likely to try anything and if they do easier to subdue. Way less stress for cops and their families too if they always have a partner with them.
And still failed to subdue the man until MEN police came to the rescue. Women should NEVER be in this position and risking the lives of EVERYONE in the vicinity.
Well, lowering the standards of entrance because of equity was probably not a smart thing to do in the first place but what is now, is. I just wished more failed linebackers would think about becoming cops instead of ballerinas.
Buddy you should NEVER help the government, you'll always pay the price. What if you got shot in the struggle? You can bet they won't be paying your hospital bills or attending your funeral.
She needs to be retrained, or she should resign. I don't know if she was feeling invincible, or WHAT, but you're already in a high-speed chase! You DON'T wait for backup, you APPROACH the car completely WRONG, on the WRONG side... Jesus Christ, it's a miracle she's not departed! Kudos to the young lady who quite frankly risked her life for FREE to help this misguided (PAID) cop. SHE is the REAL MVP! God bless and keep her...💪🏾🔥
She deserves a medal just for the simple fact that she didn't make the situation worse lol! As soon I noticed it was a female citizen running up to assist a female cop, I immediately thought, this ain't gonna end well! Lucky for them, this guy turned out to be one of those new age soy boy beta males! 🤭
The woman that assisted the Police Officer deserves a medal for heroism, she put her life in harms way to assist the struggling Officer. That woman is a Great American !!
I'm a Retired highway enforcement officer and the way the trooper walked over to reach for that door not taking a second or two to see what's going on and reach in to pull the driver out could have ended seeing a flash of light to the face by a firearm .She put her life at risk and throughout the struggle didn't radio in to notify of resistance of arrest and back up needed. Kudos to the female civilian which you can see on frame 5:18 pulling over quickly in her SUV and assist the trooper. She should get an offer to become a trooper herself for her actions.

respect to that woman fr but it goes to show that the lady officer should not be alone and maybe should look at a different line of work because this could have gone very differently
She was too aggressive from the beginning. She should’ve called for backup while she was in her car, go and talk to him in a professional manner while she was waiting for that backup and then go from there. But no, she goes to the driver, says a few words and almost immediately tries to get him out of his car. What would have happened if he had a gun with him?
She's lucky she was trying to subdue a skinny little Latino instead of a 240 pound X- MMA fighter. Guy took a while to pull over...sounds like the stereo was up so loud he likely didn't hear the siren...but he did pull over. It would been a lot easier to either order him out and on the ground and if he refused, wait for backup to handle it. I bet she tazed that dude 7 or 8 times. Kudos to the good samaritan and I'd be curious to see if this case even went to trial.
Well, I mean. Helping a police officer can be dangerous and you might catch a charge or possibly be shot because officers arriving on scene are so adrenaline fueled like dope fiends ready for action and I mean itchin' for some shit to go down... So in turn they may mistake you as a suspect.. Plus those cops probably won't recognize your help because you are just a peasant civilian that isn't worthy of their gratitude.

The driver never really had the chance to resist, she just decided to yank him out, and effect an arrest. He took his sweet time to pull over, but hardly a straight-to-jail-with-you amount of time. If had been me I might have considered it a carjacking, similar to that cop in San Antonio who opened a car door on a vehicle that _looked like_ one that fled from him earlier. When the teenager tried to escape the situation the officer fired several rounds into the fleeing car, with a busy McDonald's as a backstop. Some people just shouldn't be law enforcement.
This trooper did almost everything wrong, she went on the traffic side , almost from the get go , she opened the drivers door and tries to yank the person out , all with traffic speeding by , then get the person in head lock and starts wrestling with him only feet away from speeding traffic, doesn’t call for backup, Needs to be retrained.
This was a relatively small guy, and still overpowered her. It seems very few LEOs know how to apply pain compliance effectively in order to stop these criminals. Also it is apparent her weapon was exposed at being taken from her. She is lucky to be alive!
Again, a female cop by herself equals DANGER!! What would have happened if that other woman didn't help out? I've seen too many videos where female cops got in trouble real fast regardless of the procedures followed or not followed. Criminals see an opportunity to either escape or harm the female officer, why? Because they see that they can easily overpower them and take advantage of them, they aren't intimidated.
She don’t deserve to be state trooper. I’m sorry that was horrible policing. Don’t call for backup, and just rolls up on someone’s car and opens it up and tries to yank the driver out with no commands at all. Craziness
we see how great it works to have female police officers being alone in the public without the help of the bystander things would have went south really quick but thats something were not allowed to talk about.. truth is not wanted.

Yeah she was lucky she wasn't taken down by the backup. Relying on Trooper Duncan to communicate to her fellow officers that the woman was a friendly was obviously never going to happen.
Wow, as soon as she made the stop, she immediately went hands-on. This was absolutely a textbook example of how to get yourself in trouble being a lone cop trying to arrest someone bigger than you.
I didn't feel bad for her once and I'm usually on the side of the poor officers dealing with this crap. Literally wtf was she doing? I'm not a cop. I don't know normal procedure. I am absolutely positive this is the opposite of any police departments procedure.
Tase a guy a zillion times, still not manage to cuff him, and direct a civilian into oncoming highway traffic to retrieve the taser after he grabs it and flings it into the road. Well done, Officer Liability.

As a retired woman with 19 years in law enforcement let me say that we do not know what the trooper saw in the vehicle, we also do not know why she was stopping the driver. What I do know, is that is not how a felony stop is done. Her ego needs a reality check. She placed multiple people including herself in harms way by not following protocol in any way. If I was her supervisor she would face a disciplinary review.
Would anyone agree with me that the officer was acting a little too aggressive through the entire ordeal? I have never seen a highway patrolman or a patrolwoman (is that the correct pronoun?) walk up and open the door and drag the driver out of the car. Had she been properly trained? NO!
LEO for 20 years, now retired. There is no way this officer was trained in that manner. If it wasn't for the bystander's help, there may have been a police funeral to plan.
Agreed. It was blatantly obvious that she had neither the training nor physical stature to be able to offer any meaningful assistance, but she tried anyway. Was she effective? Not really. But hey, she stopped to help, which is more than all the muscular 250 lb men driving by can say. This is a case of "it's the thought that counts."
The thing I love about this channel is not only do you get straight to the point with the video, but there's no bs editing and replaying certain parts with dramatic music and a narrator 🙌🏽
The trooper flubbed it pretty hard. Spent way to much time and effort and was way too close trying to wrestle him with the taser in her hand. Even after the shot she's still trying to push him around with the gun in her hand. It should have either been holstered or she should have got distance. He had a pretty good chance grabbing at the gun.
@stevown sure it does, every stop is different and should be treated as it's own entity. However, this Trooper thought she'd muscle a man out of his cat on her on without even so much as a radio call for backup or to advise of her situation.she had her laser taken and had that good Samaritan not intervened it's very likely she would've been overpowered. Clearly hindsight here is 20/20 but her whole demeanor and attitude from the jump was terrible. She's a shitty Trooper, but it's ASP so her attitude and demeanor is the norm for them.
Lol no she shouldn't have even involved herself. That officer engaged a suspect by herself, when she didn't even need to. She could have waited for backup

1. Was there any reason to stop the car other than speeding? Im not seeing a felony evading. 2. She opened the door of the car and immediately laid hands on this guy. Why? 3. She then proceeded to drag the guy from the car. Why? 4. She then proceeded to taze him. Why? 5. She then shot him. Why? This video is horrible for the cop. I'm smelling a DEI hire.
I was thinking the exact same thing! I kept saying, "wrong"...."wrong"... Backup should've been called while in pursuit when the driver didn't pull over. Her reaching in the vehicle was safety violation for herself and illegal against the driver. The driver clearly didn't speak English and didn't understand her command to "roll over" x 100. He got tased for not understanding her commands and backup should've been called. She never even attempted to radio anything in. She put her life, the driver's life, the 3rd person's life, and the lives of all the drivers that passed by at risk for harm. WOW
There are so many things about this entire incident that befuddle me completely. This officer made so many mistakes she's lucky to be alive. Hopefully she learned from these mistakes so they aren't repeated. No backup, no felony stop, then trying to drag the guy out of the car on her own next to cars speeding past.
@@JDH_MUSIC No, he just didn't speak english, he had no idea what she wanted or why she was electrocuting him. He wasnt trying to fight her or he would have won. The description lies and says he kicked her in the head, he did no such thing.
The trooper needs further training, big time. She put herself, and the public, at risk because of her inability. Once she had his keys, she should have waited for backup. Mad props to Ms. Sutton. What she did quite possibly saved the life of the trooper. She didn't hesitate to jump in (even though she was risking her own safety), followed commands to retrieve the taser, and backed off when the trooper instructed her to do so. I would be curious to know what Ms. Sutton's background is. She should look into becoming a law enforcement officer. She clearly has the instinct for it. Well done, ma'am.
That wasn’t a smirk. It was a wince trying to catch her breath from exhaustion. And it wasn’t “at the camera”. She was looking up to see if backup was coming.
Can't let your emotions dictate how you approach a vehicle. run the plate, ask for backup.then approach. A civilian saved her. She needs some retraining.
Agreed. It was a prolonged chase before he pulled over. She should have anticipated that he was going to be trouble. She should have just waited him out as backup arrived.

One of the dumbest things I've ever seen by this officer for several reasons! Obviously not a good idea to pull someone out like that alone, but even worse, to do it right next to a highway where cars are traveling 60mph plus, where you could easily get into a fight and be dragged right into traffic!!!
She told the civilian to go into traffic to get her taser too. Ultimately, the trooper is very lucky this guy isn’t a killer and just wanted her off of him. If he had wanted more, it looks like he could have had his way.

Kudos to the woman who helped the Trooper. The Trooper's immediate effort to pull the driver from the car, despite a prolonged pursuit, was just BAD judgement and a serious tactical error. While I personally would have liked to see others stop, I don’t think they should be shamed. They are under no moral obligation to risk their lives or risk destroying their families over a third party encounter. The trooper has chosen her profession knowing the risks.

Yup. That Lone Texas Ranger / Cowboy garbage was totally unacceptable. Even for a male officer it would’ve been idiotic, but it’s doubly idiotic for a female officer. She totally over-escalated the situation prematurely with a high risk perpetrator without backup. She wouldn’t have had to discharge her weapon if she had acted properly and waited for assistance before getting physical. And it was her poor procedure that prompted a bystander to put herself in harm’s way trying to help this officer.
@@jwoolem76 No, it wouldn’t have been “unreasonable” for her to wait. It was “unreasonable” for her not to wait. And no, the back up did not take that long. Plus, the vehicle was off the roadway and not immediate hazard to any drivers on the road. The hazard to the drivers on the road was her having to fire her weapon because she acted improperly to begin with. There was no immediate urgency to remove the perpetrator from the vehicle, and even so you don’t remove a potentially high risk perpetrator from a vehicle in that manner. Totally unacceptable procedure. She just stormed up to the car door angry and emotional, and pull it open, unprepared for what might be waiting inside for her. If that guy had a gun, she was an easy target. If she felt she needed to remove the person from the car before back up arrived, she’d have been better off getting on the speaker and ordering him out of the car, having her gun drawn and ready in case he came out of the vehicle with a weapon ready to fire.
@@modelrailwaynoobdon’t be that guy. The OP here is correct. That trooper needs to refine her training conducting a high risk traffic stop. You don’t just walk up to a vehicle you chased down for several minutes and pull them out when you’re alone.

I am ... wait for it . . . an AMERICAN . . . PERIOD! Starting again: When cops told me, an American, to "get out of the car" ... what do you think *I* did? Did I go on a 10-minute rant of "Why?! Why?! Why?!" following the lead of this ILLEGAL ALIEN? Answer: no. I ... got ... out ... of ... the ... car. See how simple that is, Simpleton Teddy? Did I resist? No. Did I wrestle with the officers? No. Did I take the Taser away from the cops? No. So, when cops stop you, Simpleton Teddy, will you comply with cop commands? Or, is your preference to argue the law with the cop that escalates into a wrestling match in which you assault the Officer, a tussle that could result in you ... DYING?
Negligent training. An ASP trooper flipped over a pregnant woman's car a few years ago while she was slowing down for a traffic stop (15 over), and while she was struggling in the burning wreckage trying to escape, he chuckled and pointed at her on camera "That's what you get for not following the law."
She did so to take the keys out of the ignition & throw them away into the bushes. He appeared to put his hand on the gear stick & was attempting to be about to flee as she walked up.

Rogers, Arkansas - On July 27, 2024, at approximately 7:43 p.m., Arkansas State Police Trooper Alexandria Duncan attempted to stop, 26-year-old Angel Zapet-Alvarado on I-49 southbound after he passed her marked patrol unit traveling 114 miles an hour in heavy traffic near the 83-mile marker.
The answer to your question is: *YES*
_“(…)Angel Zapet-Alvarado, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala”_
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.
That shows another level of lawlessness that will not be tolerated in our state.”
Zapet-Alvarado was transported to Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas, where he was treated and released to law enforcement.

Yesir i agree.

LEO for 20 years, now retired. There is no way this officer was trained in that manner. If it wasn't for the bystander's help, there may have been a police funeral to plan.

This is probably the worst attempt at an arrest I’ve ever seen on this channel.
You mean resisting arrest never changes things in unexpected ways?
@stevown sure it does, every stop is different and should be treated as it's own entity. However, this Trooper thought she'd muscle a man out of his cat on her on without even so much as a radio call for backup or to advise of her situation.she had her laser taken and had that good Samaritan not intervened it's very likely she would've been overpowered. I was thinking the exact same thing! I kept saying, "wrong"...."wrong"... Backup should've been called while in pursuit when the driver didn't pull over.
