    I bought a field company skillet as a wedding gift for my former boss and I told her If you ever want to get rid of it send it back to me because I want it! Lol I asked my wife for one for Christmas this year

    I just ordered a size 10 skillet and lid from Field. I want to end up with the size 8 and 12 (with lids) and the Dutch oven. Should be able to cook anything I need in those 4 pieces.

    Once I got a #8 Field, had to get the #10. Beautiful skillets. Sure, Lodge works, but the field cooks more like one of my vintage pans. Great video!

      I agree. Feld brothers are making them right. Much lighter than the new lodge. Thanks for watching!

    Buy once, cry once. Spend the money, it’ll last multiple lifetimes. I’ll never buy a Teflon poison pan again.

    Great demo; I liked the thorough use from unboxing to final seasoning.

    Nice skillet. My Lodge skillets will do the exact same thing. The most I've ever paid for one was $26.00

      I hear you. Lodge does work, and they work well. Keep cooking with cast iron.

      @@be.A.b the point bill M was making, is people make these cast iron companies seem like it's the most amazing thing on the planet and also he is basically saying the price difference doesn't make it $200 better considering it takes a little less than 2 years to make any lodge cast iron look like glass and super non stick I would also like to add, none of these cast iron companies will never and I mean never last over 120+ years!!!

      Look on YT at all the "sand your Lodge sli;;et smooth" . How many people are fed up with Lodge making a bad product leaving me the buyer to do their job of sanding it? But, it is better than paying $250 for a new smooth skillet. It has taught me to give up on my Lodge stuff and replace with carbon steel stuff. Carbon steel is literally same as cast iron but better. It's lighter , wont break (ive dropped two cast iron skillets and broke the sidewalls, wont/cant happen with carbon steel think anvil or boat anchor/not brittle like cast iron). If any of you engineer/analytical types don't believe me, you can buy many brands of carbon steel but I challenge you to buy a brand de Buyer (made in France) buy the ones that are 3mm thick. All of the Mineral B stuff is 3mm thick. You treat carbon identical to cast iron as far as initial seasoning and all the maintenance. It heats quicker, cools quicker. It's lighter. Just dont buy the cheap/rough Lodge carbon steel. I own that one as well and never use. @@Denverscorpio

      Ooh. My knife, which is great. I bought a Gerber, half sharpened, half serrated. Don't know the model number. Purchased it from Walmart years ago, back when things were inexpensive. I like Gerber because they are made in the USA. Good steel and easy to resharpen.

      @@johndeweyoutdoors7725 that was a real life scenario of needing to unsheathe and open and use a knife one handed. gerber passed that test with flying colors. you couldnt have done that with a buck 110.

      @johndeweyoutdoors7725  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tested123 No. But the Buck 110 is a great knife for all uses. My first was Buck 110 was 1977, worked great until I lost it. My next Buck 110 was 2021. It's a nice knife for its purpose. My Gerber is quick to open and use.
