I kind of thought the same thing when I first watched the movie. It's an interesting parallel, both Pomni and Babette are thrown into this new place where they'll stay seemingly forever, so they immediately want to go home, yet TADC has a much more... ominous, dark undertone to it, since these people are trapped against their will, yaddah, yaddah. It could have been inspired by this, but idk, I think anyone would react the way Pomni did when she arrived. Whereas Babette (probably?) kind of had a different reaction to arriving compared to the other toys in the nursery. So, maybe?
