The font would suggest this coin is a fake as you intimate, however, many genuine Victorian Crowns had Milled edges brought in as a strategy to discourage 'clipping'...so a milled edge does not automatically mean a coin is fake.
This is a fake my friend I do have a real coin, so as this is a fake with the weight and the fact is this is fake.
my grandad was a coin collector back in the 1960s but unfortunately he passed away before i was born, recently my aunts found a 1890 six pence that belonged to him and since I'm a coin collector they gave it to me, very cool that its from the same time period as the coin in the video :)! if the one in the video were real obviously but still.

It should say ' FID . DEF' but the fullstop is missing and the crown should overlap with the 'B' at the top. That's how I worked out the one I was sold was fake mine is from an identical batch but from the year 1900. Im applying for a refund from eBay as we speak luckily I haven't even received the coin yet but had a closer look at the photos before it arrived
I hope you get your refund, People who would love to get in to a hobby for whatever reason, should not be put off by greed and others. I buy fake coins to others don't buy or fall in to a trap of losing out on Money regardless of what people want to collect. These coins generally are faked quite often. That's great news the real coins have a Latin on the edge. i hope you avoided the fake ones. That's why I make these videos because then we can give bad people a wide birth and not lose out to people who make fake coins. Put people off enjoying a hobby I love. @@CollectingWorldUK yes,it has the latin text on the edge, I've seen a lot of these coins from the same year with a milled edge for a lot cheaper but thanks to this vid I've avoided them

Thank you Mr Gopher. I try to make sure that collecting is fun. I know people see a bargain and get ripped off, then get put off from collecting coins or anything in fact. I think the best point anyone can give themselves when collecting coins, is you must convince yourself first, ask the right questions. Do the research, that's how I think anyway. Hey @L.A.P coins good to hear from you. It's still worth the silver value whatever the silver content is. But the true value is to stop people from being taken in about having fake or fraud coins in the collection, where people have an amazing coins then it's taken years to collect the accounts for nothing. I like to have these so others don't get disheartened or put off by the fakers. collecting anything is suppose to be fun, just there are always going to be people who are going to ruin this. have a great week.
