- This locomotive has been under construction off an off for the past 4 or so years. In the last few months I have focused my attention on finishing it off. It is 5” built to a scale of 1.125” to the foot. It was built using Hunslet drawings and lots of photos. The trial was largely successful, some things to tinker with and fix, but it steams well and has a good beat. I unfortunately had a bit of paint blister on the smokebox, but overall paint held up well.
You just keep turning them out! Another amzing masterpiece. Look forward to seeing it in the flesh. Well done.
Thanks.
Amazing how powerful these little machines can be
Congratulations James sounds perfect! Looks perfect! Is perfect! Jo
Thanks! Pretty happy with how it has turned out.
Very good!
well done, James when will we see it at the club.
Thanks Jason, perhaps next month, depending on how the next trial goes whenever I get a chance to test my tweaks.
hey mate do you know where to get boilers made for 5" gauge blowflys?
Do you want one built to do you?
@@jimmynswgr yeah i really need one if you lnow who can build one
@@picnic-train-spotter I don’t know if you realised this but I have built all my own boilers…..how much are you willing to spend? Do you have any copper for it? Any silver solder or Tobin bronze? Do you want a standard saturated boiler, or the extended variant? Do you want superheaters added for easier steaming and better efficiency?
@@jimmynswgr yeah i know how much one cost it wll be a while befor i need one ill talk more once im at the stage of it
@@jimmynswgr do you have messages? so i can contact you and send the drawings through and get a price on the boiler and i have no copper or silver solder
