I really love all yr interviews with the people from that scene. Casey, Rikk, Kira, etc.. Great questions. Always find something out I didn't know. Thanks
In 89 I was 16, my friend was 15 and we were at Fenders, Casey came up and was shooting the shit with us for a minute til the next band start. That was cool.
It's funny hearing Casey talk about the differences between the L.A and O.C scenes - as the younger Suburban kids but Pat and others have often stated that the scene changed when the Orange County crowd came into, calling them 'Jocks' and implying the Orange bands brought the fighting and the ugliness into it.
It was mainly the HB punks who brought in the jock/ugliness/fighting etc. crap. The LA/Hollywood punks didn't really differentiate, they assumed all OC punks were as bad as the HBs.
I was at several of the gigs Casey mentions including the Long Shoremens Hall riot. It was actually 83 which was a scary fucking year to be a punk in LA. He's not exaggerating about the police violence.
"All 6 bands had strong first albums." ...... Ya THINK??? Understatement of the century. GREAT interview.

So looks like the movie The Agnews never saw the light of day. Bummer.
Great interview, parts 1 & 2! Thanks for sharing. However, I didn't catch any moment here with him talking about Mike Ness.
He had covered that in depthly in the other interview he did with EB a while back.
Look at those pupils. Casey's fucking lit💡😂

So whatever happened with the Agnews movie?! Anybody got any info on that?
l.a. scene was so unique in that the cops were always messing with the kids at the shows, and more often than not full riots/mini-wars
Wish d.i would come to stockholm sweden
