  • Here's a little install video for the Cardo Freecom 4+ into my helmet: the Scorpion EXO R1 Air. This might give some of you ideas for managing the cables that tend to be a bit messy whenever these units get installed.
    Motovlog setup:
    + Bike: 2015 Triumph T-100
    + Helmet: Scorpion EXO R1 Air
    + Camera: DJI Osmo Action (Cynova mic adapter with Koss VC20 for volume control)
    + Audio Recorder: EVISTR Digital Voice Recorder 8GB L53-1536KBPS

    These cheek pads are such a bitch to put back in there!!! I’ve never cussed so much in my life. Thanks for your video!

    To anyone who ended up down in the comments trying to reinsert the cheek pad portion of the liner:
    DO NOT use brute force on the frontal pinhole locks, you almost need to slide them in while bending the cheek pad a bit.
    Make sure to pop in the FRONT pinhole lock FIRST within the liner, NOT the back two near the ear, do those LAST.
    Personally I had to BEND the cheek pad slightly when inserting the frontal pinhole lock, almost to slide the pin into the hole.
    Hopefully this helps!

    No hate or anything. But u don’t need those velcro pads in the Exo R-1, that’s why it was sticking out a bit coz that 2-3mm count’s. They’re perfectly 40mm specific for these cardo speakers. That’s why u seen those holding’s on the top left and right corner to keep them exactly on place.

    • @GSX-S_Warrior
      @GSX-S_Warrior 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      And they also have a cable management lineup for the speakers so u should stick them trough under the inflatable cheek pads.
      I know it could be pain in the ass to redo the whole process again.
      Just wanted to let you know if you would like to do in the planned way as it was designed for ✌🏻😇

    • @GSX-S_Warrior
      @GSX-S_Warrior 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@ajk6656 You still need to for easier access. But what’s included in the Cardo box the one side sticky pad and other side velcro that you don’t need to put on, coz there is 2 clip which holds on place perfectly the 40mm speakers of cardo. I’m not sure if other 40mm speakers will be the same. Coz the cardo have a little bit of “oval” shape. And they fit 100% perfect.

    • @iefie

      You mean by clip the two holes to put in the ear pads? And the cable goed under the inflatable cheek pad?

    • @GSX-S_Warrior
      @GSX-S_Warrior 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@iefie no, i mean in each hole there is 2 clip/“teeth” which holds in place the speakers. And yes the speaker and the cable fit under the inflatable cheek pad easily if they’re the 40mm speakers from Cardo and not the 45mm

    So, when chucking those "placeholder pads" away when installing my Cardo system I found my EXO-1400 Evo Carbon to become very loud..
    Which sucks, as noise was one key factor as to why I chose the helmet.
    I ended up putting back the pads over the intercom, which results in OEM noise level, but I also loose sound from the Intercom as the pads have a plastic sheet in them to cover the holes when not having an intercom..
    I'm not sure what to do now tbh

    • @Tiaan90
      @Tiaan90 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Motovibes91 Yep, absolutely! But it's not noise in general, but buffeting that I wanted to eliminate. Which returned without the pads.
      I ended up putting the pads back on opposite sides (placeholder thingies above the speakers) which mostly restored noise :)

      Don't force it. I would double check that all the cables are in a good position and tape them down to keep them out of the way first, but all the pads should snap back into place relatively easily. If you're having to push hard, you could crack the shell.

    Place revisit the children game square peg round hole. Seriously, the square velcro for the round speakers?

    • @malt8810
      @malt8810  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not the one who sells Cardo: it comes with square velcro. The one round piece is for the microphone mount. If that bothers you so much, I suppose you could spend time cutting it into a round shape, but it'll be behind the speaker, under the helmet padding, inside the helmet, where no one, not even yourself, will be able to see.
