How I wish I'd known about the canvas technique before now! I owned a small business making flyers, business cards & ads. I've made at least 200 projects w/o using that feature & had to jiggle & format the artwork to achieve the look I wanted. I always managed to get a polished look, but I'm pretty sure I had to work a little harder for it than I needed to! This is just in time for me as I am starting a new job in June. I'll practice at home till then. You're a good instructor. Thanks!
I have a older Word but did not realize these features are there. They are like the old Microsoft Publisher I used to have but lost when I was scammed into upgrading for free to Windows 7. They didn't say you would lose other window programs that cam installed with my computer. Thanks much!
I remember I used this video last year to make a flyer for my math project. After that I forgot the name and searched endlessly for this video and after how many months i found it. i will now like and subscribe.

@NaturalBeautiMe So when you insert a picture, once inserted... 1. Click on the picture, then "right-click" to show the shortcut menu. 2. Select the Menu Item "Format Picture". Then, select the "Layout" tab. 3. Once selected, for "Wrapping Style" choose the option, "In Front Of Text". This should make the picture freely move around the canvas.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is a wonderful and easy to understand tutorial. It got me started and I managed two respectable flyers for our library fundraiser. Guess you CAN teach an old dog a new trick!
First, find out what file format Craig's list wants the flyer to be in (PDF?, JPG?) In Word 2007 or 2010 you can save as a pdf. Once the flyer is in PDF format, you can convert it it to whatever image file format that you need, such as jpg, png, etc. You just have to make sure you have a program that can convert the pdf to an image file. You can google "Convert pdf to jpg" and some options should show up.
this video helped me make a flyer which raised donations that gave much needed clothing to the working poor and homeless. thought you would like to know. ;)
Thanks...the only issue i am having is that i not able to figure out how to stretch the borders of the flyer to extend approximately 1/4 inch from top and side borders...there is like an near an inch of space on each side and about 4 inches of space from top to bottom...wonder what i am doing wrong??
