Great basic presentation. Thank you! The only thing I would have mentioned in the use of PPT's transparent tool, which is really important when using a color background. The transparency tool is not the best. Sometimes its necessary to use one the free transparency tools like LunaPic, which is an awesome tool!

This sounds perfect, but when you go to print these fliers they come out ridiculous. PowerPoint doesn't use a standard document size. In this video there's no mention of how to fix this problem. You don't go into the printing process at all, but for every flier you would have made using this it would be a blaring issue. Also, with all the experience you have you would know that there are a bunch of text boxes that appear when you print these out, even if you don't see them in your document outline. You should have been more thorough with your video, because if you follow all of your steps it doesn't at all lead to a professional flier. You've left out the last steps completely.
This is mainly in regards to digital flyers. However when saving as a pdf, I have never encountered the issues you're reporting. Lastly, this video was published years ago. The program has had changes. In this video, the elemental aspects of flyer composition are still of value. Have a nice day.

PPX starts in Landscape no mention on how to convert to Portrait. I may have missed it. If so my bad.
Go to the design tab > to the right click slide size > customize slide > portrait
