That's weird about Sailor Saturn because I distinctly remember my dad buying her for me when I happened to see her for sale at the local Blockbuster video and I live in Florida. Hearing that she's so rare now makes me so mad that I didn't keep track of what happened to my doll collection because I had so many of these! It's just that I moved a lot during the 1999-2003 period and at some point I lost them.

I’ve never had an interest in fashion dolls or sailor moon, but this is a nice video! It’s fun and informative, and it’s clear you’re passionate about the subject! Also, Irwin toys did have other licenses! Dragon Ball would be the most notable, imo!
For synthetic doll hair like these girls have, best practice for hair washing is with detergent and fabric softener. People shampoo and conditioner can break down the plastic and adds unnecessary oils. I can't remember specifically if the Irwin dolls were rooted with nylon or kanekalon hair, but it is a type of plastic/synthetic material, either way. Wash in lukewarm (hot will change the style so be careful not to get it too warm) water with detergent, rinse in cold, wash in cold with fabric softener and rinse rinse rinse. Then let her dry for a few days (in summer I put a wash cloth over my air vent and lay the dolls on that, but in winter with heat running that would be a bad idea!) and brush gently to style! :D Hope this helps and good luck restoring Venus! I remember going to K-Mart with my Grandparents and wanting Mercury, but she was gone from my store by the time my birthday/Christmas rolled around.

As someone who collects fashion dolls just because I like them, hearing you say it was inherently weird and trying so hard to justify why you have them was pretty rough...
excelent video as aways, really fun to watch. i collect some magazine toys (really common in latin america) like you buy a children's magazine and get a toy as an "incentive". my favorite one is the rock animals collection, which are stones with different compositions (they are all made with collored plastic tho ^-^' ) that turn in a intricate mannar into animals that live in the same area that those gems are extracted, as a means to concientize children on the envirement around them. i have the full set with the exception of the gorilla, the tiger and the black jaguar. they are really pretty and resilient to put on an exposed stand without doors or glass, and their gem like apperence gave me indiana jones × yu-gi-oh crystal beasts vibe. as a side note: i would really really love to watch a retrospective on action-dolls for girls. like, in the same vain of your games for girls video. it would be really fun and insightful :3
The nostalgia part I feel, regret maybe slightly, but I've made a determination to not collect stuff as an otaku myself. I don't want to feel like possessions can help make me feel any more established as an otaku, it's just who I am and nothing can change that. I rent manga from the library when I want to read manga, the only problem is that a lot of manga I like is very hard to get, one of them I finally found for a good price, and I'm not willing to get anything digital. There's nothing quite like the real paper pages and the smell of actual manga. One of my most favorite series is Apple seed, but since it's not nearly as well known or popular as ghost in the shell, it's extremely difficult to get, especially for a decent price. Put on top of that, it's considered a retro manga, since it came out in the 80s. It's anime which was executed very badly at least in my opinion, came out in 1998. My introduction to Appleseed was partially due to my father, who very much like the 2004 remake, which after watching it again as an adult I personally find the writing a bit to americanize, I will never ever ever call it a bad enemy at all whatsoever, like how so many same people well like sailor Moon up until they're 35 because it's near and dear to their heart, for me it was that one r rated anime that my dad showed me when I was 8 years old, I will never ever ever call it bad or cheesy, it is my childhood, it is what got me into mature anime in the first place. I really really wanted to read the source material, but there's really no good access to it, because it's not very well known, so it's pretty hard to find the manga for a good price, and put on top of that it's considered a vintage manga which doesn't really help at all. I really also want to read dominion, which is another manga written by the same guy.

I am soooo sorry to hear about losing your Italian Super Chibimoon doll :( My dream doll is the Talking Eternal Sailor Moon doll that is super rare and several years ago a seller from Japan listed it for about $250 on eBay, and o was soooo excited to own it, and they ended up contacting me telling me they didn’t have it. I thought they had scammed me but my money was refunded.
Aw I love fashion dolls, I was a young teen who loved monster high and getting to learn more about these dolls that I never knew of makes me wish my dolls were in better condition (I still have them all but I lost tons of pieces and outfits) I even bought my young cousin one of the more expensive OMG dolls and was a little heart broken when she wasn’t very into it (just not a doll person ig) kinda wish I kept it for myself cause the outfits on some of the dolls are super detailed and cute The one I bought came with like 3-4 outfits !

I think you might be able to fix your clock. As long as the back comes off so that you can just replace the clock mechanism.🤔 The eyes on the dolls look somewhat creepy.

Saturn was only sold in specialty stores and online, so it's not likely that your dad got her at a Blockbuster! He may have found her somewhere else.

Irwin Toy continued to make toys for years after. They also made the Reboot and Dragon Ball Z action figures in the 90’s.
