There's more to cleaning up pools like this than just pressure washing, taking out the algae/dirt formation, and putting chlorine in the new water.

tbh he didn't do that great of a job, I do pools for a living. he drained it and mucked it out then filled it up.. there is terrible black stains in the pool and after he pressure washed it I guarantee the floor was rough on your feet when you are in the pool now. he should've just refinished the pools surface, instead he just filled it back up and that was a lot of water wasted cause you know the next home owner with that kind of money to buy a house with a pool that size isn't going to want to look at those black stains and pitting spots. also I've seen way worse lol.. that pool probably sat like that for maybe a year and a half or 2. and everyone in the comments section says it looks terrible, which it does but the worst one I saw sat for almost 5 years... we threw our pump to drain the pool in the deep end and the thing literally just sat on top of the water.. and it was a heavy pump... like 15ish maybe 20 pounds...

Yeah I got 6 trees, 5 full grown bushes (dunno what they're called but they're big) and shit always gets blown into the pool. But at least I am not lazy and I clean it, but would be a lot easier without them

I grew up with a big in-ground pool. I know how expensive they are to install, maintain, and renovate. I loved taking care of the pool and the filtration equipment. It's upsetting to see a pool degrade to this condition. Thing must've needed an acid wash if not new plaster and probably entirely new filter and pump.
If you hire a good company that resurfaces the pool, they are gonna sandblast the old plaster down to the gunite. Black algae is the only algae that might go down to the gunite.
painting pools is very bad. it's literally just a bandaid.. just makes it more difficult for the next guys to work on when whoever the homeowner is and finally stops being a jew bag and spending some money. I do pools for a living and to anyone using the term "gunite" just say resurface, resurfaced or resurfacing.. cause there is multiple surfaces to choose from.. marcite which is the oldest of the bunch but it isn't as strong as it was because you cannot use asbestos in the mixing process anymore and that's what gave it, it's strength. diamond Brite is another, which is the one most people pick now, pebble tech, fiberglass aka fiber tech. so im just saying don't be clueless. this guy did a terrible job but then again it was just a clean up. "should have gotten it resurfaced while it was drained but.. that's on the homeowner or the new homeowner if he suckered someone to buy the house with that ugly stained floor."

Few things.. why didn't they pressure wash the sidewalk area around the pool? Why aren't they wearing rubber boots? Where are their safety glasses? And if you're going through all that trouble anyway why not paint the bottom of the pool after cleaning it instead of leaving it Staind? I mean don't get me wrong it's definitely an improvement but I feel like they could have been more thorough. JMO
It looks gross, but it's also likely just algae and such that won't hurt you. Chlorine will kill off anything left after pressure washing. But why the cleaning random spots? Top down, for gods sake!
I would have used some bleach gel, such as that used on toilet bowls and let the bleach gel stay on over night. Anything that was not rectified by that i would have painted.

They could have at least painted the bottom.
Problem with painting a pool, is usually the paint lasts only a year, then you have to deal with the paint plugging up the filter.
Mosaic tiles perhaps?
You would have to resurface the pool with portland cement in order to not show the discoloration from algae.
If you hire a good company that resurfaces the pool, they are gonna sandblast the old plaster down to the gunite. Black algae is the only algae that might go down to the gunite.
painting pools is very bad. it's literally just a bandaid.. just makes it more difficult for the next guys to work on when whoever the homeowner is and finally stops being a jew bag and spending some money. I do pools for a living and to anyone using the term "gunite" just say resurface, resurfaced or resurfacing.. cause there is multiple surfaces to choose from.. marcite which is the oldest of the bunch but it isn't as strong as it was because you cannot use asbestos in the mixing process anymore and that's what gave it, it's strength. diamond Brite is another, which is the one most people pick now, pebble tech, fiberglass aka fiber tech. so im just saying don't be clueless. this guy did a terrible job but then again it was just a clean up. "should have gotten it resurfaced while it was drained but.. that's on the homeowner or the new homeowner if he suckered someone to buy the house with that ugly stained floor."

Few things.. why didn't they pressure wash the sidewalk area around the pool? Why aren't they wearing rubber boots? Where are their safety glasses? And if you're going through all that trouble anyway why not paint the bottom of the pool after cleaning it instead of leaving it Staind? I mean don't get me wrong it's definitely an improvement but I feel like they could have been more thorough. JMO

It looks gross, but it's also likely just algae and such that won't hurt you. Chlorine will kill off anything left after pressure washing.

The pool "liner" can get permanently stained. It would be expensive to re-do.
It is restored fully usable and with a little luck, sun and chlorine will bleach the liner to it's original color.

I would have used some bleach gel, such as that used on toilet bowls and let the bleach gel stay on over night. Anything that was not rectified by that i would have painted.
