    On August 26, 1997, the Swedish government promised a full investigation into involuntary and coercive sterilization measures. Approximately 63,000 people 5 were sterilized under Sweden's policy of eugenics which began in 1935 and came to a quiet close in 1976,16 when the law was silently dropped from the books.

    Come from a swedish and French family. 3rd generation, we all look the same. Perfect full hair, symmetrical face, no blemishes or acne. We all love healthy food and can't stomach anything unhealthy. We are a bizzare species of human fr. My family forbids me from being with an "undesirable" we still practice procreation and i think more families should. Too many unhealthy looking children out here.

    We had sterilizations of the mentally disabled in Canada as well. Eugenics was pretty popular for a while there.

      I'm Swedish and I want you, the Canadian, to tell me why either of us were wrong. You guys are beautiful, equivalent to the movie 300.

      @@masztaarc Simply because people are created by God, and in the image of God, and so we have a certain inherent value and dignity, even if they are mentally disabled. It's wrong to violate someone by sterilising them against there will.
      If you don't accept people were created by God, or have certain inherent value or rights, then I can see how preventing certain people from reproducing could be seen as simply pragmatic. Many things could be seen as pragmatic.

      @@NeilHaskins so instead we should create a population who can't take care of themselves and will eventually add to the homeless problem?

    • @NeilHaskins
      @NeilHaskins 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@trawsoza2926 Instead of sterilising people, yes. Although I think we should put people who legitimately can't care for themselves in some sort of care home, instead of leaving them to be homeless.
