Greetings. I am using the trial version of lightburn. The problem I'm having is when I type a text on the screen and preview it, it looks ok. On the material it's showing a different direction and if I move it to the left or right with the arrow keys it moves in a different direction. The text is horizontal and on the material it is showing vertical. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
You’ll need to play with the setting for which galvo mirror is the X axis, and possibly reverse / negate the galvo directions as well. Read here: docs.lightburnsoftware.com/galvo/ConfigureGalvoSettings.html#per-galvo-settings
How can i add Z-axis support to my galvo setup? instead of a hand crank it has an integrated stepper drive. With up/down buttons on the main unit. It should be able to be controlled from the computer. However, i haven't been able to get EZCad2 to run the motor neither.
Will this work with a Mac OS? I already have LB working on my Mac with a Co2 laser, I just can't figure out how to get lightburn to see the new fiber laser
I have a fiber laser coming and my question is do I even need to install EZ CAD 2 from the flash drive or can I install Light Vurn as my first and primary software?
There’s a file provided with EZCad that is the configuration for your laser. Setup is a lot easier if you have it, but otherwise no, you don’t need to use it.
Galvo compatibility is on 1.2 and above. This is available for everyone to use until July 15th. At that point, a Galvo license will need to be purchased.
They should be within the same directory. If that is not the case I would recommend reaching out to the place you purchased the laser and see if they are able to provide it.
In TH-cam comments, probably not. Please email support@lightburnsoftware.com and we can help you there. We’ll probably need a log file sent to look at.
JPT50W Hi.... Ezcad the laser works great, but it's a very limited software and with a lot of lag, Lightburn doesn't seem to recognize the laser, the working speed is very very slow and also the power is very little. How could I solve? Thank you
Hi! Lightburn with the licensed Galvo extention isn’t detecting my 30W galvo laser. I’m assuming the problem is I need the driver. If that’s the case, my question is now how do I install the JCZ driver on a mac when the USB the mfr gave me is all Windows based files? Am I missing a solution? I’m about to give up and just buy a PC…
For Mac, it shouldn't need a driver. Make sure that the laser is powered on. Also trying a different USB port or cable altogether would be worth a try. The laser is running an EZCad 2 or 2 Lite board? If you are still having issues reach out to our support team - support@lightburnsoftware.com
my machine started marking automatically when i hit frame. i hit stop while its in frame menu and it just restarts the mark. Is this a software issue or am i missing something in settings?

Hi folks. I am new here and I need help. I have a 20w JCZ fiber and I am using EZcad. I just installed Lightburn 1.4.01 (trial version) but I made a mistake - I imported markcfg0 instead of markcfg7. Can I change that? Also I don’t see a red dot and it says that laser is disconnected. Can someone please tell me what am I doing wrong?
The markcfg file probably references the cor file from a path that doesn't exist. You can manually set / search for it in Edit > Device Settings after you've completed the rest of the setup.
Hi, can i fine tone the coordinate of firing area with lightburn? I do it in the Parameter button (F3) in Ezcad but could not find the same mechanism in LightBurn, Anyone got an idea?
The F3 command looks to control repeating of a job until you want it to stop or for a certain number of times. Those options are available in the framing window: docs.lightburnsoftware.com/galvo/Framing.html For cutting specific objects, there is an option in the laser window "Cut Selected Graphics". As long as that is enabled it will only mark the actively selected objects in your workspace.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 Thanks for your reply. Actually I wanted to adjust the offset X and offset Y of the home position for Galvo lasers. It looks like Lightburn does not have such feature for now.
Currently this is for ezcad2 and 2lite boards. We would love to support ezcad3 based boards but do not have any info or timeline available at this time.
I followed exactly this guide and my laser was also found by Lightburn. Now to my problem: as soon as I want to start engraving something and go to start, nothing happens. The laser will not start. does anyone have any tips for me?

It works on my Basic1. I think the basic 2r has the ezcad 2 lite board with hardware added for the rotary, and if so then yes, it will work. Lightburn has done extensive testing on the EM Smart machines.

LIghtburn would not let me add the Galvo version until I paid a $90.00 license add on, I did not want to use the trail version because we have to pay for it later down. Also, I found that I could not have my CO2 on the same computer as my Fiber. Did I do something wrong?
Tha galvo support is $90 if you already have a LightBurn license for another device type, so that’s normal. For the CO2 / fiber question, are they both galvos? Is the fiber a MOPA? If so, and that’s a your default device, that could be why. If you run LightBurn and choose the device profile *before* you power up the laser, it should work for both on the same computer.

You have to delete you licence on up to three computer, download a new version as deleted or an uodate if one id available, install and open, add you licence number close LB, restart and the galvo is now functional . You get an email explaining this process.

@@henryjames4010 - the price of the galvo license went from $150 to $200, or a 33% increase, which is actually *less* than most other things increased in that same time period. Keeping up with inflation isn’t greed, it’s necessary to stay afloat and pay our bills.
