GREAT video! This mod is on our upgrade list too. We are loving our 26x and I'm so glad to see all your videos on them. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks for the mod video. I've done this mod based upon your video. I used a rotozip. It was messy so I had a shop vac nearby to suck the fibers. Maybe not the best way , but it worked. Thanks for the video! :)

Right on! Glad you got something out of it. After our last trip we were happy to have the two large tanks.

To fit 12 gal gas tank inside:
Put it for few hours under the sun.
Pump vacuum with automotive vacuum pump.
    Fit it inside.
Open the valve. It will come back to its original size.

Thank you, curious to know what engine you have. I have the same boat like yours. Nice content

      Thanks!
It’s a Yamaha 50 high thrust 4 stroke. Don’t remember the prop right now but will look into it 🙌🏼

Outstanding & Informative Video! I have to ask, did you use a single fuel line, or did you route two seperate fuel lines (one for each tank). The 26X I just purchased came with the two 6.5 gallon tanks, and a single fuel line which must be moved from which ever tank you are using. It makes more sense to me not too have to move a fuel from one tank to another. Best Regards

      We just use one. Thanks!

I was curious out that too. No easy way to have both tanks connected as one big tank I suppose.... A pain to switch it when getting low, but not the end of the world I guess. Fantastic video crew, thanks!

@@theblackspotguild thanks! We keep a second line on the boat for a back up. But we just switch back and forth w one line.

I have a 99 26X and it didn't come with any tanks. I can't keep my tanks in my boat though, they get stolen, so I'd love to find a way to get them locked in somehow. (I have the walker bay 8 sailing kit and dighy too!)

We haven’t had to lock up our tanks yet as we store it at home. But will give it some thought.
      Thanks for watching!

Another fuel question for you since you seem to be active here! I just got my boat used and the tank that came with it is actually in the center below the seat! If does fit quite well there, being fairly short as well, but could be in the way for people coming and going from the ladder. But we will also very rarely be using the ladder. I am debating just keeping the setup they have, which leaves both cubbies free for bumpers, lines, etc. Any advice on just keeping it how they have it, vs. having to modify at least one of the cubbies to get this fuel tank in? I am debating both options. Either way, I am using one cubby for the bumpers, but the other I could put the fuel in, or not!

I wouldn’t enjoy having the tank under the seat crowing my feet and always stepping over to check motor or what ever. But it would help keep things from sliding off the back. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@FrigateChaserFishing makes sense. Interestingly enough, the previous owner actually put a removeable wall there as well! So that keeps the fuel tank from sliding out as well as, if the tank wasn't there, anything else from sliding out. Pretty handy. Not sure if that was an official Macgregor option or just a random afermarket modification, but it is darn handy! So even with the fuel tank not there, there is a handy removeable 10" tall wall!

@@theblackspotguild that’s nice. I think it’s an aftermarket blue water yacht thing. We actually store our Honda generator in that spot when needed.
