Rivendell was the catalyst this year into fully getting me into lego again. i even made an account on Lego just so i could pre order it.
imo it is the most beautiful official set ever made and i love it, and not only because i am a massive Tolkien nerd.

Rivendell is the best set of the year. For Lego fan's, it's an amazing set with detailing and intriguing techniques. For a LOTR fan, it's everything we could've hoped for after waiting ten years. the biggest W of the year.

The Harry Potter castle looks so neat . The little rooms in the base looks to add so much to it . Maybe one day I'll buy it

Couldn’t agree more with #1. I also was quite certain we’d never see another LOTR set. To have Rivendell surprise us, then to realize it’s not only the set of the year, but easily one of the, quite likely THE, most gorgeous LEGO sets of all time, really does feel like a fantasy.

it was a joy to build and a fantastic display piece. i am very happy with it, even though it is overwhelmingly the most expensive lego set i ever got. over twice the price of #2 for me.
but very much worth it imo.

Already a casual Lego fan, Rivendell started an avalanche and now everyone can call my home the Lego Wild Elf Rehab Center…I’ve now acquired all the Lego Elves sets and I can say without any doubt Rivendell in 2023 would not have been as beautiful without the Lego Elves line. Had they done Rivendell long ago, it would not have been this magical. The color use, parts use, new molds for Elves (and Princesses), etc. obviously paved the way for the amazing parts uses in Rivendell.
Now I’m spending loads of time repairing incomplete Lego Elves sets…maybe one day these wild wayward elemental Lego elf kids will grow up to be adult elves. 😂

Great video. I agree that the lord of the rings set is the best. The Concorde is amazing. Would be good to do the top 10 sets of all sizes. Your opinion is important as you are the true expert.

I would think that when assessing the “greatness “ of a set that piece count would be the primary consideration…then figures..perhaps next time you can title the video “My Favorite “ over $100 sets of 2023… but i give you lots of say.. you’re lego collection is absolutely 🔥!!!
