How in TF did that defense attorney NOT know that just because the DA was recommending a cap of 4 years that does NOT mean the judge is held to that..... yikes! This is a terrible look for that attorney. I hope he was court appointed and she didn't have to pay for that.

The attorney in white always has a sassy attitude, she tries to tell the judge how she must rule

defense attorney in hodge case needs to quit chewing gum.
The last case, why don't these criminals think of their obligations to wife, children, elderly family, etc BEFORE they break the law.
Never saw any sovcit on this grouping. But did see the defense attorney get schooled in the fact the judge does not have to accept what the two attorneys might agree.

Are public defenders taught to TELL judges their jobs?? Entitled Public Defender….it isn’t going to happen in this COURT! He needs more school!!

There's no reason a PD shouldn't correct a judge if the judge makes a mistake. obviously in this case the the judge had not made a mistake, and that was the reason the attorney was out of line. But there's nothing that says an attorney can't correct a judge in cases where the judge errs.

Why don’t these lawyers know the law? Seriously Judge doesn’t have to explain the law to these dumb lawyers!

All the free lawyers look like they are in competition with their defendants as charity shop shoppers. The diff is their clients press or clean THEIR clothes. They look like they fell out of bed hung over. How much are they paid I wonder?

Most likely can't afford nice suits nor dry cleaning given the abysmal pay and the amount of student loans they have. Being a court appointed attorney can be absolutely grueling

Sorry I responded before I read the last sentence 🤦‍♀️
Tax payers pay for court appointed attorneys so the pay is terrible and the expenses they have are often massive. Where I live it pays so little they all have their own law offices they run which means even less time they dedicate to their court appointed cases. They are also often required to pay for their own supplies, fees, etc because the amount they are given doesn't cover everything the need to do to PROPERLY defend their client. But also we are supposed to have a right to a lawyer at no charge right? Almost everyone knows that from TV or whatever but here if you have bailed out of jail and want a court appointed attorney they are told that they have to decide if they want a court appointed attorney they need to go back to jail and THEN they can have one but if they have the money to bail out of jail they have the money to pay a lawyer. Which is NOT what the law says but it is absolutely ridiculous considering the amount it would cost someone to bail out of jail wouldn't pay for more than a couple hours of a lawyers time IF that given how expensive they are. Anyway court appointed attorneys usually make very little and incur a lot of costs themselves which they can use as a tax dedication. The amount of funding court appointed attorneys in your area receive should be available online although I have no clue where to look. I do know since it is tax payer funded it is a matter of public record
