    ANyway, the weighting of veggies and fruits... each one of them has their unique number and you can just type the number instead of looking for the picture and you need to use them only if you use the hand scanner. If you dont, they will weight it at the counter.
    You forgot to mention meat section in Globus... they have their own butchers and do everything on their own

    Thanks Andrea it reminds of me of the time I spent in Brno. We used to go to Albert or Lidl, sometimes Tesco as well. I remember all those cheeses, I didn't get to try those cheese strings though because I didn't really know what it was. I don't know about you but the one thing that surprised me was the absence of fresh fish and seafood in supermarkets, you had to go to a special store ocean 48, to buy fresh mussels for example.

    Globus is one of the best supermarkets. They are unique because they make many products directly inside the shop so it is fresh and with very good price/quality ratio. Many Globus stores have their own bakery, butcher, restaurant and patisserie (cukrárna). Pretty much all other supermarkets are the same. They do not make anything - just re-sell goods. But from my experience quality of fruit and vegetables is the weakest point of Globus. Lidl or grocery market is often better choice. Also I noticed that you mentioned weighing scales being only in Czech. I think it is because they would not expect foreigner with scan&go app as you need to register in advance and I think you need local address as well so tourists can skip self weighing because cashier will do that during check out. Technically it is now only for scan&go app but many people still do it out of habit because it used to be that way or it works that way in other supermarkets but nowadays it is pretty much everywhere that cashier weights the things mostly because people were cheating a lot (for example print the price and then add extra few apples or if there are 2 yellow apples, print the cheaper ones and take the more expensive ones).

  • @MarvinCZ
    @MarvinCZ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Globus is great, unfortunately I almost never get there. I make do with the smaller supermarkets. I personally avoid Lays because they use palm oil, Bohemia Chips don't.

    • @MarvinCZ
      @MarvinCZ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try the cheese "Olmín" sometimes. It's similar to hermelín but it's even more creamy. If it gets near the expiration date the inside can get all liquid and it's so tasty! Also, not a Czech cheese, but President "La Brique" is very good, quite aromatic.

    Those stringy cheese is actually like Slovak national cheese. But still yea. Very popular in Czech also and Im also huuge fan. It should be natural sheep cheese. And sheep cheese is something Im huge fan of. It wont melt if its trully natural, so you can grill it and it will just soften itself but not melt...so gut. I also recommend Parenica or Pološtiepok. If you love korbačík, you will love these. Its basically the same cheese but in different shape.

    Were you speaking about cheese and marmelade? I've never heard of this combination. Also, I've never realised there's so many Studentska pecet types of chocolate. I've never considered it being a brand itself. With so many types though, it really looks like an Orion sub-brand. Thinking about it, since I prefer the hot chocolate (like the 70% ones), none of these brands seem to provide many options. It's mostly the oversweet milky chocolates what you can get from Milka or Orion. The more sugar they put in, the faster you become an addict :-)
    Speaking of cheeses, apart from eidam and Krolewski, my other favourite cheeses are Encian (hermelyn type) and Tatransky rival (Niva type). And I've never eaten syrečky...just be careful when it comes to this unique cheese :-)
