He just knew that high note and Scientology had a weird vibration. I hope he finds peace in a positive way. If Beck or any of his road crew get hard up.. I got an extra bedrom for free. No questions. Just leave firt print posters.
2020 and this still a jam. I remember hearing it on the record and all of us cracking up at the pun. But you couldn't deny the greatness of the song. And then the fact that the man could turn around that year in 1999 and do it live on multiple occasions. Beck is the real deal.
Damn, 1999. I just shamzaned this song a few weeks ago. A perfect example of how much great art/music is out there that we've/I've not heard/found and the philistines sill insist on listening to fucking Hotel California for the 4 billionth time.
You know most of that audiance never heard of Beck and more of the audiance never even heard the song. They all were screaming for joy when the beat kicked in.
This piece reminds me vocally and stylewise of the 'disco phase' of The Rolling Stones...with pieces like "Emotional Rescue" or "Tops"...but the Stones were rarely an ironic band.
You can tell he's so stoked he hit that note around 3:30. Nailed it!

Perfection!
This goes out to my best friend, John Sutton, who died back in 2014. I miss you man.

1999 was a great year for music
Beck is a genius! Just when you think you peg him he introduces you to another galaxy where there actually is intelligent life.
Fuck man..Beck crushed this so hard!
This song is glorious. It's like he's covering David Johansen covering James Brown...and then flight of the Conchords do a spoof on this
Such a funky 70's vibe !
It's Beck doing Prince
Oh man thank you TH-cam for recommending this I haven't seen this since 1999. Beck is amazing

I like this song alot!
Gotta little Prince in him!
What a great song. Need more footage of Justin Meldal-Johnson, he's the key to this tune.
It's called "What makes BECK an EXPERIMENTAL GENIUS?" if that link doesn't work
Absolutely love this song!! Beck channelled Prince when he wrote this!💜💜
He is a versatile artist. Beck went from leaf blowers and Fisherprice toys on stage with a trash folk sound to this epic performance.
Whoa Beck and his band rocked that shit. Wow.
Beck is so awesome live! I saw him do this song at Mesa Amphitheatre. Such a great show !
Justin doing the "real good meal, yeahayeah" is just awesome 😄
Zankou Chicken (in Glendale) IS a real good meal.
You know most of that audiance never heard of Beck and more of the audiance never even heard the song. They all were screaming for joy when the beat kicked in.

@@KaraDK Thanks!! That collab with Lauryn Hill will be Perfect..
😍🥰😍🔥🔥🔥💋👅
Imagine if this is based on a true scenario. Amazing.
You have the very beginning with Sandra Bullock introducing him?
Why does the title say VH1
Fashion Awards show but it clearly says MTV in the upper right corner??
Because it was a re-run of the fashion awards on MTV.
I hope I’ve cleared up this very important piece of information for you…
