@@DoctorER Well, apparently in the early phases of the covid pandemic, they were used sparingly exactly to substitute ventilators because of concerns of their shortage
Honestly. I haven't watched spongebob in years.. I'm glad this is the first of spongebob I've been able to see in years, with mr ER doctor and a funny video lol. Makes me feel like a child again
I like how even professional doctors, that probably seen a lot worse during their operations, hate the splinter scene. I guess that's just another thing everyone shares in common.
In the movie "War of the Worlds" Dakota Fanning's Rachel character got a splinter in her hand and she refused to let her father remove it. She said her body will reject the splinter and that is true. We shed our skin every day and that is one way for a splinter to leave the body.
4:54... Pretty sure that is a reference to "the iron lung" which yeah isn't really used anymore and has been replaced by ventilators, but that sure looked like a reference to a iron lung.
The "sponge treatment" is actually really clever. If you want to get suds out of a sponge, you do exactly what they did and just scrub with it until all the soap is squeezed out. Seasons 1 to 3 were so smart compared to the newer seasons.
@@Rioluscave That was NOT the reason at all why he ended up in the hospital. The only reason was that he went into a coma after finding out that they threw out the mattress with all the money. Later when he finds it again he wakes up and regains his health completely.
@@DoctorER the ending scene of the episode slide whistle stooges! Squidward ends up getting a slide whistle lodged in his throat and then spongebob and patrick go around the hospital playing their slide whistles for different medical situations (season 6)
@@lissifajen185 just saw the Doctor's comment and it's incorrect. Head mirrors were used by otorhinolaryngologists and general practitioners for ear, nose and throat examinations. Not sure about the opthalmologist thing because it uses natural light reflecting off the mirror designed to be used as a light similar to the ear nose and throat head lights and pens now used.
When this video popped up, I literally started cheering, ran into the kitchen, popped a bag of popcorn, sat down on the couch with my popcorn, and hit play. You have no idea how long I've wanted you to react to the medical scenes from Spongebob!
I'm surprised you didn't point out the "Iron Butt" joke. It's a reference to an antiquated medical device called the iron lung. A lot of younger people probably won't catch that one.
Yeah, lol. Definitely is a funny reference. When I was a kid I didn't get it, but now I'm 18 and I do. It is true that a fair amount of people won't get it though.
8:31 If this was real life, the family of Mr. Krabs would have sued the hospital and workers who decided to take him out of the hospital just because he doesn’t have medical insurance.
Mr krabs having the Dos Equis eyes was due to the fact he was missing his money stuffed mattress that spongebob and Patrick tosses out to cure his bad back. So it’s more psychological than physical. A better one would’ve been him being admitted after eating a rotten patty.
The only thing you didn’t mention was Patrick getting what he deserved pretending to be a doctor going to the doctors office lying that he has the suds and then getting a taste of his own medicine that was my favorite ending of the episode
Is no one going to tell Dr. Jordan that Patrick came out to dress up as a doctor after being in the dumpster which is covered in germs without cleaning himself up at 6:00?

Definitely hilarious and would love a part 2. The iron butt is a funny play on the iron lung. Kids watching it probably won't get it, but parents and grandparents who watch it with kids definitely could. Could be interesting to talk about it for a second if you do a part 2. Thank goodness we don't need to use those anymore though.
"The Lost Mattress" episode was where Mr. Krabs had a really bad back because of his lumpy mattress. So, SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward bought a replacement one for him and threw the old one in the dump, which made Mr. Krabs really mad and pass out from a panic attack, because all the money he saved in his life was IN the old mattress. The doctor says, "Mr. Krabs is in a cash coma. Only the return of his money can wake him up."
I didn't have insurance when my dog killed a Rabid skunk and we all basically needed rabies shots as a precaution. I literally signed up for free state Insurance AFTER treatment and it covered all expenses 3 months prior to signing up. Hospitals generally aren't bad. There are plenty of conspiracy theories regarding the show. For me, whenever I hear "Spongebob" now, all I can think about is how someone had analyzed the design of his pineapple house and concluded it wasn't an actual pineapple. Then I think about the episode where little creatures drank all the juice out of his house leaving a single seed behind. When he planted that seed, an entire new house grew from it.
That thumb scene with the splinter actually reminds me what happened to a vendor at a place I work at. He was moving a pallet with a motor jack. He notcied the pallet was a bit crooked. So he kicked the thing with his heel to center it. Unforntatly he still had his hand on the handle and made the jack go.forward. a jagged pice of the pallet went through the entire bottom of his foot. It looked horrible. Gotta give props to the guy. Didnt curse. Didnt scream. Nothin. He put everhthing where it needed to be then walked out the door and took himself to the hospital. Was back to work the next day like nothing happened
Was wondering what the reaction to the insurance bit would be...More accurately they should have said "We just charge $50 for a band-aid or $75 for a new mom to hold her baby..."
Sandy - "SpongeBob, land on your bottom. It'll cushion the impact of the fall." SpongeBob - "Like this?" Patrick - "No, your other bottom." Sandy - "Don't you have to be stupid somewhere else?" Patrick - "Not until 4."
The last clip always gets me; getting moved out of the room because he doesn't have insurance, then moved out onto the side walk so that people can use the vending machine, then kicked down the hill so that they don't have a bad rep about leaving patients outside. The dramatic music and delivery on ridiculous lines like "So I can access the Nutty Nut Bar", everything about that scene is glorious
