Would love to see a Hoya update! It’s crazy how big the Gloriosum has gotten! I’d love to have one someday but I’m very intimidated by creeping plants...it seems impossible to keep them looking tidy lol

I tend to be more drawn towards aroid's, but I purchased a calathea at the advice of my 12 year old daughter and now I'm in love. She has great taste in plants and has her own small collection as well. Her bedroom looks like a jungle with her bird aviary and plants 🤣.
I'm a gramma now but you have me wishing I'd known of my mom's love of plants when I was a kid. I could have grown then the jungle I started growing the past 2 years.

Could you do a video going in depth to your self-watering pots and the mediums you use and the fertilizer? I’ve recently started transitioning to self watering but I’ve been using soil and I see you use Leca and pon so I was curious the difference/ pros and cons...etc.

My dark form forgettii does that too. I’ve noticed it does it after being disturbed… i.e. repotted, changed medium, moved, what have you. Then it will go back to pushing typical leaves. Giving it something for those extremely sexy aerial roots to dig into might help too.
I also have a queen anthurium with big lobes and I love her so it’s cool to see someone else appreciate them too.
I must've forgot about the calathea one, ok I change my vote to a fern video because my asparagus fern is literally two twigs while my anthuriums are thriving... im so confused!!!
@@balmainshawty hahaha yeah the Calathea one is from like over two years ago. Ferns are very mysterious but a lot of my friends have had success with them in self-watering

My triostar is actually doing beautifully after being told that they were difficult, and I've had difficulties with prayer plants before. I hope it continues, right now it's just pushing out leaf after leaf.

Marble queen pothos was the very first variegated house plant I bought many years ago. Its not rare but its still a pretty house plant. Same with the maranthas - common but still pretty. Sorry to hear your variegated banana passed away because it was such a gorgeous plant.

Will a top cutting of a mature plant retain it’s mature leaves as it continues to grow, or will it start over with immature leafs

Your Glorious is my goal in life. I was searching for one for MONTHS … could not find one. Finally, got my hands on an unrooted top cutting - single node, and now I’m a nervous plant mama again. I’ll cry if I can’t get it to root. Such an amazingly beautiful plant.

It is really interesting that multiple of your specimens are developing exaggerated lobes - I wonder what is causing that? 🤔

My syngo Mango; the plant from which the strawberry shake is derived; is growing really big in the same manner. And it’s actually nice looking and doesn’t have rotted flesh variegation.

I had to laugh as Kaylee described the sound of the prayer plant's movements and remembering seeing lots of plants in one of the classrooms at church a few weekends ago - I think there were a couple PPs there, not as gorgeous as Kaylee's but well sized. I'll worry about getting one once I figure out my monstera deliciosa that has better than doubled in size and 4x the fenerated leaves - in the last 6 weeks since I bought 'them' at my local grocery store, all lonely looking staring over the exotic fruit section... Morticia, Noni and the slightly smaller friends are doing great, too great. I decided to 'big dive' on plants when the first 6 made it a year - all because Kaylee gave me the confidence. lol Thanks Kaylee, thanks. A lot . ...shuffles off to dust leaves in 3 rooms.
