I started a vending business and have been screwed over by everyone except people I personally knew.
I didn't look too hard and had 300$ a month coming in at a point, it can definitely work, just not worth the hassle in my opinion
edit: I also live in one of the most ghetto cities in the country and people will screw you for a dollar quick, so don't be too discouraged

it's usually percentage based, you can rent vans for an afternoon which is astronomically cheaper until you're a giant company. Electricty based machines usually just require a higher percentage be given to the owner

I am not sure if you can change prices and stuff on your vending machines but for the vending machines you have in workplaces, you should put some Ramen baggies in there. Ramen is rather cheap, like 25% a baggy where I live. If you can put some in the vending machine for a dollar, that’s a 75 cent profit and I know from experience that people buy it even though it’s marked up so much.
It makes for a decent lunch for people at work who forgot to bring one. We had a vending machine at Home Depot with ramen that was $1.25 and it sold like crazy.

Keep it up, that is how I started back in 1992, now I have 300 + vending machines in great to good locations. If anyone is wondering, Jaime's numbers and the amounts of money he is pulling out all seem in line with what they should be producing for locations that size. It is a great business you can do on the side while in school or having another job. The tough part is finding the locations in my opinion and buying the correct machines that work well and do not give a lot of problems. One fantastic aspect of this business is that even if you put them at a location that does not sell much, you can always move them and you do not lose your investment. Not to many businesses that you can pick up and go and try again without losing your investment. Good luck, seems like you are doing great Jaime!!!!

The question is simple. You got every day or 2 days to make sure everything is stock. It's not hard to sell most of your stuff if you have the machines in places that are in work areas bc most people can't leave work to go get food. So they depend on the machines to see if anything is good. And it's common sense. Like really..

I used to work in vending for a small business. Even thought about buying part of his business and going on my own but went into a different career path. It's a very good business to be in if you can get in the right places.

Hey great video Jaime, you are a wicked smart guy!! I'm an entrepreneur myself and I just wanted to give you a heads up, at 0:37 you mentioned that the cupcakes sold out but then didn't do so well the following refill. I think a lot of that has to do with it also being the holidays and a lot of people proactively start their New Years Resolution diets within the first few weeks of the new year. So if they're trying to stick with a resolution diet, your sales for 'ultra sugary/unhealthy' foods such as those cupcakes will decrease. So you might be better off putting in a regular brand of chips, maybe even try out Stacy's chips, or even a bag of nuts for those first few weeks before putting in those cupcakes again. Just something I noticed, but you are killing it man. So great to see young entrepreneurs doing well!!!! Subbed.

(20 something is my guess) I just turned 30 and I started my business 10 years ago when I was 20. So I’m definitely seeing a lot of the 20 year old me in you. My friends mom used to own a bunch of vending machines. Their garage was like a candy heaven to us. They even had cigarettes back when you used to be able to do that so we'd take them sometimes trying to be cool. That was like 20 years ago. I miss the teenage days sometimes. @@DaelinTV Legit. You have to either own or rent those bad boys. Its like $5 a day just to rent them. If hes picking up the money every other week thats an additional $60-$70 off that profit. Then, you have to give a cut to whoever owns the space. Between that and that time its takes him to do all this, hes making less than minimum wage, if anything at all. Whats probably happening is his dad owns the machines, and is paying him a separate allowance to fill his machines for him.

@Ryan, I pay no rent /commission at my locations. I got all my machines in a bundle for about $400 each, I've been doing this for 7 months and everything paid for itself already. I own all of my machines. Product cost and everything else is only about 50%. Obviously this is only a side job, I have friends that make over 100k with 50 locations or more. I made $11,000 last month with my other side hustles, so trust me, I know what im doing buddy.

This an interesting idea. I would imagine in order to be really profitable you would need about dozen of these machines. If I were you, I would be buying as many as I can and within a 50 mile radius and building a company that literally just manages vending machine.
So I just finished the video. Your average net profit is $70~ per machine. I don't know the time period but i'm assuming this is every 5-6 days? In that case, if you have 12 machines, you could be making $3392 on 12 machines, give or take depending on the area the machines are in. I would imagine the strategy behind deciding the location of the machines is everything. A busy rest stop could probably give you and extra $50-100 per machine. Nonetheless, cool business idea, it'd be interesting to know how you afforded the machines.

It is very important not just to use the amount of Gas used in your expenses, but the cost/mile to run you vehicle. You should include depreciation, repair and Maintenance, Insurance, and fuel. Also don't forget to include deprecation on your vending machines as well. Also include bank charges. All the best in your business!
