Watching you make these dyes reminds me of when I’m dying paper for my homemade Art Journals. I just make coffee or tea. Colors can get darker by steeping the tea longer and of course by adding more tea bags. Or by adding more coffee. Then I spritz the coffee or tea onto the papers and I also lay stencils on the papers before spritzing for some fun patterns. Now I want to go get berries or black beans. Lol. I don’t have anywhere local to go pick any (you’re so blessed), but you can bet I’m going to keep my eyes open in the grocery store. Lol. I studied textiles at university and we did a whole semester on natural dyeing. Indigo is cool because there’s natural and chemical indigo. Also with indigo, you’re suppose to just dip your fabric in the vat, and then the longer you leave it dipped the more vibrant the blue, so we would count the seconds on test pieces to get a scale of the shades.
Amazing..a nurse at my cardiac rehab center in Oregon City is named Indigo.A man who’s a wonderful nurse. He sure fits the name, was born at the begining of the indigo naming of new age babies. His mother it turns out was a close friend of a woman I once dated in N.C. Indigo speaks to change and peace ..love etc.
I always loved looking and buying baby cloths, I had 3 boys, but I had plenty of nieces, and grand daughters to buy for, I think you guys are gonna be great parents, stay safe.
I have 4 children who are adults now but I so loved and enjoyed each of my pregnancies. I had uneventful pregnancies with fast and easy deliveries, 4 to 6 hrs to be exact, lol. I had a hysterectomy after my 4th child due to cervical cancer at age 31. I would probably have more children if that were not case. Now I am enjoying the experience of my daughters and daughter-in-laws pregnancies and seeing my grandchildren being born. So for we have 3 grand daughters ages 12, 5 and 3 and Finally our first Grandson who was born 2 days ago on Nov. 8th. He almost shared his birthday with me if he would have waited til the 17th. All that just to tell you I'm am so very happy for yall and congratulations on the addition to your family.

It’s all so adorable and I’m very excited for you, I have two children of my own, a daughter who is 18 now and my son which is 14 and both pregnancies were completely different but so so special, take the time to make sure you enjoy the pregnancy and being able to feel the kicks and flutters because you will almost miss it afterwards…that’s one piece of advice I always give cause it’s something I think most women don’t think about cause I wish I would have taken more of that in! Definantly inspired...I ve been dying fabrics for years ..started with using coffee and black tea to tye dye my period panties and period sheets ..then stained t shirts and tea towels ...and then moved back to the city and was a very low income single mom for my kids lives from 4 and 2 🙄...so still dye all of those things but also tried koolaid ( not for drinking) jello powder ...and rit dye s ...all natural fabrics but not affording organic dyes or putting my mind to methods and processes you covered here to play with natural colours ..and how to prep certain materials with protein etc...so thou I am now 53 live at a bizy intersection but minutes away from the river and woods ..and I grow so many things and harvest wild plants for tea and medicine...so thank you so much ..I luv your life and your work ethic ..enjoy your videos so so much...I m from the interior B.C and consider myself part coastal as I ve both lived and been on the lower mainland scince born ..mostly white rock which was a small beach town 50 years ago as was crescent beach..and did a bike trip after living in Rossland for a ski season and befor babies ..up across the Chilton and down into Bella Kuala and out to islands Waglesa and her sister island then ferried to pot hardy then across to Lund then back to Campbell river .Theadus, pender, Quedra islands ...then met up with some friends at seabird island festival and toadtripped across the island to Tiffino..protested on blockades for Ckaquote sound over 6 months ..then moved to new partners families Land in Dunster in the Robson valley and had my babies with no electricity or running water ..big gardens and shared root cellar LOVED THE LIFE but stuff went sideways and I havent gotten myself back to living off the land scince....SO WANT to have such experiences again ..which ..thou living in town but am humble and very connected to the land I live on for 18 years ..I know every wild plant in my yard ..in my allies and by the river and in the woods ...One day things will shift back to having a place also in the woods by ocean creek or river maybe lake but likely the other waters..mountains close or I'm on one ...I'd love to have a shop in town ..perhaps a studio ?Anyways ..I m letting out some running thoughts in my head and heart😊 Back to THANX 🥰🌿💞🌿🥰
You are going to love those open bottomed sleepers. They make nighttime diaper changes SO much easier(think half awake, half asleep, and more tired than you've ever been). I recommend trying the kinds with NO snaps. When your baby is kicking and crying, snaps are totally annoying. Your dyes turned out amazing. Good job!

The baby clothes youg need are just beautiful… So precious and so personal. I did not know you could do some thing by living out in the wild in do you need your own clothing from berries and such. I thinking they are so VERY PRECIOUS, & You should be very proud of yourself. I've been watching your videos for quite a while and while I may not have commented I have been impressed with a lot of what you guys have done being off grid. I haven't commented because I've been waiting to see how far you were going to really get how successful you would be and I wasn't sure to be honest you were taking it seriously. But the longer I watched you the more I realized you were very interested and serious in learning about the nature around you and showing us that you could❣️❣️❣️ it was very cool getting to see those super tall trees moving in the wind and looking very angry and I just wanna teaching them move back-and-forth like on the dance floor in the rain. It was bit scary to be honest watching those trees bend and bow like that in a storm! Kudos to your success in the tiny house you built and all of the things you had to do you do you live off the grid such as your irrigation systems, setting up a hot tub and flowing water etc...You have proven yourself to be quite strong and an equal partner to your mate. What a beautiful job you have done with all the naturally dyed baby clothes. I wouldn't worry too much about dying too many clothes in the beginning. As baby outgrows the clothes, you could cut those lovingly dyed fabrics into squares and make a beautiful rainbow quilt that can be used by anyone in the family, even sent to family far away. Or even make patchwork pillow covers where you can store the more memorable ones you want to save out of sight inside the pillow cover for the next baby that comes along.

Hello Nicole, My favorite colors are in the ranges of shades of green and blues! I have not changed these colors for the last 5 to 10 years. For a baby that is going to grow up in the forest greens and other natural colors would be great! You look so beauitful being in this mama stage of your life!

I am a grandma from Australia and i always had my little girl who is now on her third child but i had in purple and lavender and what everyone called hippie clothes, and they used to say i was cruel calling her Stevie. Definantly inspired...I ve been dying fabrics for years ..started with using coffee and black tea to tye dye my period panties and period sheets ..then stained t shirts and tea towels ...and then moved back to the city and was a very low income single mom for my kids lives from 4 and 2 🙄...so still dye all of those things but also tried koolaid ( not for drinking) jello powder ...and rit dye s ...all natural fabrics but not affording organic dyes or putting my mind to methods and processes you covered here to play with natural colours ..and how to prep certain materials with protein etc...so thou I am now 53 live at a bizy intersection but minutes away from the river and woods ..and I grow so many things and harvest wild plants for tea and medicine...so thank you so much ..I luv your life and your work ethic ..enjoy your videos so so much...I m from the interior B.C and consider myself part coastal as I ve both lived and been on the lower mainland scince born ..mostly white rock which was a small beach town 50 years ago as was crescent beach..and did a bike trip after living in Rossland for a ski season and befor babies ..up across the Chilton and down into Bella Kuala and out to islands Waglesa and her sister island then ferried to pot hardy then across to Lund then back to Campbell river .Theadus, pender, Quedra islands ...then met up with some friends at seabird island festival and toadtripped across the island to Tiffino..protested on blockades for Ckaquote sound over 6 months ..then moved to new partners families Land in Dunster in the Robson valley and had my babies with no electricity or running water ..big gardens and shared root cellar LOVED THE LIFE but stuff went sideways and I havent gotten myself back to living off the land scince....SO WANT to have such experiences again ..which ..thou living in town but am humble and very connected to the land I live on for 18 years ..I know every wild plant in my yard ..in my allies and by the river and in the woods ...One day things will shift back to having a place also in the woods by ocean creek or river maybe lake but likely the other waters..mountains close or I'm on one ...I'd love to have a shop in town ..perhaps a studio ?Anyways ..I m letting out some running thoughts in my head and heart😊

You are going to love those open bottomed sleepers. They make nighttime diaper changes SO much easier(think half awake, half asleep, and more tired than you've ever been). I recommend trying the kinds with NO snaps. When your baby is kicking and crying, snaps are totally annoying. Your dyes turned out amazing. Good job!
I really love the wolf berry purple, chrysanthemum yellow, and the turmeric yellow too. They're all very pretty and you have done such a great job with your dyes Nicolle. The baby clothes youg need are just beautiful… So precious and so personal. I did not know you could do some thing by living out in the wild in do you need your own clothing from berries and such. I thinking they are so VERY PRECIOUS, & You should be very proud of yourself. I've been watching your videos for quite a while and while I may not have commented I have been impressed with a lot of what you guys have done being off grid. I haven't commented because I've been waiting to see how far you were going to really get how successful you would be and I wasn't sure to be honest you were taking it seriously. But the longer I watched you the more I realized you were very interested and serious in learning about the nature around you and showing us that you could❣️❣️❣️ it was very cool getting to see those super tall trees moving in the wind and looking very angry and I just wanna teaching them move back-and-forth like on the dance floor in the rain. It was bit scary to be honest watching those trees bend and bow like that in a storm!
Kudos to your success in the tiny house you built and all of the things you had to do you do you live off the grid such as your irrigation systems, setting up a hot tub and flowing water etc...You have proven yourself to be quite strong and an equal partner to your mate. What a beautiful job you have done with all the naturally dyed baby clothes. I wouldn't worry too much about dying too many clothes in the beginning. As baby outgrows the clothes, you could cut those lovingly dyed fabrics into squares and make a beautiful rainbow quilt that can be used by anyone in the family, even sent to family far away. Or even make patchwork pillow covers where you can store the more memorable ones you want to save out of sight inside the pillow cover for the next baby that comes along.

Hello Nicole, My favorite colors are in the ranges of shades of green and blues! I have not changed these colors for the last 5 to 10 years. For a baby that is going to grow up in the forest greens and other natural colors would be great! You look so beauitful being in this mama stage of your life!

I am a grandma from Australia and i always had my little girl who is now on her third child but i had in purple and lavender and what everyone called hippie clothes, and they used to say i was cruel calling her Stevie.
