    Hears an idea for broken bottles that are to small for a drinking glass, you could turn them into drinking coasters or trinket trays. Just a thought

    I was just typing a comment about how I love these little peaks into history, especially in other countries (German here). But then you found that Barylla bottle and now I need to google. That’s my sister’s married name.

    Have you’ll ever thought about taking a handful of those little flags on stiff wire with you’ll? You could stick them in the ground where you leave some of the bottles. How do you keep up with what you have left to pick back up later? I’m new to your channel and really have been enjoying it

    I found a big Hood's in '19. Round bottoms are usually ginger ale. They often have "Irish" markings as Ginger ale is reputed to be invented in Belfast. I have a Hutch from Belfast Ginger Ale Co. San Fran. They get dug here often. I found a great old can in a can up in Nevada "Belfast Orange Drink" from about 1954. "Since 1877". I found a broken Simmons Liver Regulator from Macon Georgia here. I bought a whole one from a bottle club guy there, where they aren't rare. I also found an Irish Moss cough cure from New Zealand. Alas all the Hawaiian marble sodas were broke, and three from Los Angeles too.

    That 50’s, 60’s bottle that had the leech on it, can those have air bubbles in the glass? The very first bottle I picked a few months ago was a clear bottle with the same type of top but it also has air bubbles all throughout the glass. I was wondering if it could be older than 50s-60s? I also want to thank you for getting me into bottle collecting. I bought a metal detector last year and stumbled upon your channel and now I’ve been bottle hunting. I’ve done research and located the old local town dump and been out there quite a bit. I’ve not found anything as old as what you guys are finding but Im soldiering on till I find that old pre- 1915 bottle. I did find an old clear bluish green insulator with air bubbles but right now it’s mainly been small 40s type bottles and a few mason jar lids and a lot of broken bottles but I know the old stuff is in there. Wish me luck.

    • @gageb4476
      @gageb4476 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not usually, a bubble or two is different but consistently having bubbles in glass is a telltale sign of it being old

    • @wvbygraceofgod5508
      @wvbygraceofgod5508 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gageb4476 that’s what I thought. These bubbles are over the entire bottle but they are not big. The biggest bubble is the size of screwhead. The glass even looks wavy. It’s embossed with a grapevine on top and on the bottom but the seam does go all the way to the top but the screw top even has small air bubbles in it. I’m really confused with this one but I don’t have no where near the experience with bottles that most of y’all do

    You want a REAL blood thirsty monster? Then just keep creek hunt'n without protective gear. Yyou have a scratch or a scab on any prat of your body that's gonna get wet then your opening yourself up to possible flesh eating bacteria. That includes fresh and back bay waters, a clam hunter in NJ just died last year from that stuff. I been bottle hunting since the 70's so good hunting and play it safe.
