Thanks for the in-depth review about the interior, functions and quality of the car. I was looking for this type of review because I'm about to test one for my first car, and I like to be upfront in terms general use to not go totally blind. Thank you!
Excellent review! I bought the estate 2011 105 bhp model 1.5 DCI as my first car and i am more than satisfied. Perfect car for normal people with normal expectations - reliable, practical, also good looking even for today standards. Wish it had a bit more ground clearance though, for worse road conditions. Cheers!
13:16 I have a 2011 Renault Megane, and it has lights on the sun visors. These turn on automatically, upon opening the miror doors. In terms of comfort, it is one of the best in its class. In terms of price, reliability, and maintenance costs it is the best on its class. Moreover, the space is very good, while having many secrets: the four hocks on the back, the fence to avoid small items to slide inside the trunk, etc... I simply love it, and recommend it! The Megane 3 and Clio 3 were, at that point in time (2009 to 2012) the best couple of cars you could have in your garage!
I have this car for almost 9 years. Traveled multiple times across Europe and the car never broke down. It is surprisingly reliable and the fuel efficiency is excellent (1.5 dCi).
In the right side of the red parking light (P) light in the instrument cluster theres a white light that shows the gear shifter, the same white light lights up in my car too, do you know whats that about? Is it normal that the white light lights up at all time? I do not know whats that about. Thank you.
@@CallMeSoniram hello! There is no issue, when the white gear shifter appears it suggests you when to change the gear in order to drive economical. But I do not recommend to change the gear when the car suggests as most of the times the rpm is too low and this can lead to issues with the EGR valve and Diesel Particulate Filter in the future (if it is a diesel).
@@JurnalAutoHello and thank for the fast reply. I do not speak about the white arrow that shows you when to change gears, i did ask about the white gear knob symbol right next to the red parking symbol that lights up at all times. Do you know what's that about? Thank you.

Renault Megane. Bigger inside, generally more reliable, more suitable as a family car. The only advantage of the Ford is that it drives better, but it is quite cramped inside for its size and for this class and reliability was just average in the best case.
@@joelgikubu686 if you do often longer trips, then 1.5 dci as it is a reliable engine, already legendary used also by Nissan, Mercedes or Dacia. If you will use the car mainly for shorter trips, I guess the 1.6 naturally aspirated petrol will work just fine as it is reliable and cheap to maintain.
@@joelgikubu686 Go for the 1.5dci. A bit slower than the 1.6 petrol but way better fuel economy everywhere. But aim for the 110hp higher trim versions, as lower trim 90hp versions don't have much in terms of equipment. For repairs, I've done nothing but regular maintenance and some interior bits with mine. 1.6dci is also a very good engine, faster than the 1.6 petrol, has the same fuel economy as 1.5. Parts are a bit harder to find and generally more expensive, but still a reliable workhorse.
Beautiful design. The engine is quite slow and old, but it is reliable and this is what matters the most. I had a version of the same engine on a Megane 2 and I had no issues with it. The fuel consumption is a bit high even compared with other petrol engines, but at least is reliable.
@@JurnalAuto one question at the beginning of the video you mentioned the types of engines Renault Megane have you said 1.2turbo petrol, wasn't supposed to be 2litre petrol
@@BORN_OF_GOODNEWS hi! No, I really referred to the 1.2 turbo petrol (115 HP) launched in 2012 on the Megane when the first facelift took place. That engine had big reliability issues. Regarding the 2.0 petrol one, that is a nice engine in both naturally aspirated and turbo versions. Some reported high oil burning in the naturally aspirated one, but apart from this it is a reliable engine. This does not seem to apply for the 2.0 turbo petrol engine which had no notable issues and is a great engine!

And almost 15 years ago I had such a bad view of Renaults. Up until I got to own one. That was a great car.
Where is the button that I have to press to open the tank, or do Renault Meganes not have them?
Fluence, which is the sedan version of the Megane, has the button, but this one does not have it. It seems not all of them have the button.
