Zerer is one of the best german organists of his generation. And once upon the time, there was a Stellwagen in this Hauptkirche. I wonder why Flentrop decided to build a new instrument in equal temperament... Heinrich Scheidemann and Reincken once held the post in St. Katharinen.
@@janhogendoorn2 The first infomation was that the organ would be equally tempered (the Rückpositiv whas then under construction), but finally they chose "Bach-Kellner" temperament.
"Zerer is one of the best german organists of his generation" Indeed. I was present when he played this chorale two years ago on the fantastic Müller organ in St. Bavokerk in Haarlem (the Netherlands). Needless to say, he performed it extremely well.
This was posted less than 25 minutes ago and already someone has given it a "thumbs down"! What kind of troll does that? As they left no comment (mine is the first) to explain, one must surmise they are a coward.

Zerer is genious. I am so happy to have listened his performances live.
This organ is one of the 7 wonders of the modern world. It's unbelievable.

It is not in an equal temperament. The organ is a reconstruction of the lost one which was earlier in this church.
Zerer absolutely is

This belongs to a series of Chorales written at Weimar BWV 651-668 where Bach gave some revisions unlike those from Orgelbuchlein
