Late to this game and this video series but it's interesting to note that the latest errata and Living Rules have changed the rules regarding attacking in Poor and Severe weather hexes. Mobile attacks are no longer permitted. Only Assault attacks. Meaning the Germans in your case would have had to focus on Assaulting available Polish cities with a Panzer as the active unit and Leg units in support. +2 for being German, +2 for armor, +2 for Air Support, +2 for two additional Leg Armies in support, -1 for the city. So (1 + 7) / 2 = 4 to (6 + 7)/2 = 7 where the Poles are going to have rolls of 1 to 3 max. Maybe you could have taken Warsaw and one or two other cities or Warsaw, a city, and kill a unit for lack of retreat?
