Hi Paddy, Koh Samui was my least favourite destination in Thailand. I stayed at Chaweng Beach and a walk along the main road was a barrage of massage or tailor every few feet. It was unrelenting and really pissed me off. The airport was probably the highlight for me, not just for leaving but it's a beautiful laidback oasis of calm. I arrived by night train/ferry from Bangkok. Khao Lak looked AMAZING. Thank you for that experience!

Hi Paddy, I love your adventure video's, the quality of the image is stunning, you do not need to change your camera, even if you shoot your video on an old cellphone camera I would still watch and like your content. The story, the presentation and the location is million times better than losing focus for few seconds here and there. Please save your money. People who threaten to unsubscribe are simply rude and not deserving of your free content.

Glad you got the replacement cameras but I would have kept watching anyway! I am amazed at the newer technology... we are so vain that we need the camera to fix all of our flaws! I personally LIKE seeing all of the REAL parts... puffy eyes on early mornings (or after too much to drink the night before), sunburnt skin (you Brits should own stock in suncream! ;) ) etc etc. I know that I for one come for the reality of TH-camr life - not the glossed over, 'dewy' complected, never have a terrible day life that some seem to think we want to see. Thailand is already proving to be almost complete perfection (in the Southern region!) Thank you for continuing to be real!

I Love Samui, lived there for 2 years - tip, just as you headed first time in Lamai to the beach - these 2 seafood restaurants have brilliant food, and the nightlife in Lamai is quite neat to the one in Chaweng but I much prefer Lamai. Go out and discover Samui it is a beautiful place, except Chaweng - I do not like it...but discover yourself you will see what I refer to. I will not spoil you where to go and where not - you are an experienced Thailand traveler, I am sure you will make your way! Love your channel, keep it coming - thank you and CHOK DEE!
By the way, the new cameras work amazingly with much better video quality!
For the accommodation, you are extremely lucky, as Lamai isn't cheap anymore and to find a place like home, including everything (except electricity) for this price is an achievement on its own! Great place. (of course, some have to consider it is cheap now because of Covid and a big decrease of Tourists in Thailand) - 600 THB a day - unbelievable price value rate!!! - usually impossible in Lamai...except you rent a small house for a long time)
Samui has never a bad vibe - it is, even it is touristic an unbelievable nice island, where my family and myself who are living in the north of Thailand still travel every year to, as I really like the Lamai area and do not like the vibe of Pattaya...

Well, Paddy, I totally get the day to day challenges that you face and potentially might face. On the one hand, you could have a backup camera, backup microphone, backup everything, but then having everything backed up you are then carrying an extra 4 or 5 kilos of equipment. I honestly didn't, haven't noticed equipment glitches... I think you are doing a great job week after week. You are keeping it fresh, interesting, and responsive, considering the ever-present Covid environment...

Lol Paddy you got a new camera and you used one of my comments lol (my kids that was hilarious). The ZV1 is a great little camera for vlogs. Now you have the ZV1 no excuse for not shooting in 4K! It does crop the image a bit though, so you would need one of those extension pole things. I use my ZV1 all the time. Use Cini tone for best image Cine 2, but you would need to color correct in post. Keep the videos coming mate, loving it.

Been going to Lamai since the early 90's on a regular basis and it looks like a Ghost town compared to what it normally is like... Still the best beach on the island in my humble opinion, where you went on the beach was about where I stayed first and it was in a Bamboo hut basically with a Matress, Mozzy net and a fan all for the princely sum off 50thb a night which was about £1.25 at the time, my hut was 20 steps from the water and it was an amazing time to be there, still love visiting although its about 4 times the size now!

Great to see another episode.... When You go back to mainland.... there is a tiny..... very tiny island ca 20 km south of Donsak. Koh Rat. We stayed a couple of times there. There is a homestay by the local teacher (the one and only) - her name is Kru Nit. She makes great seafood, and can arrange boattrips to find the pink dolphins. We had a great time watching the sunset while eating perfect seafood.
I mentioned earlyer, that when You go North... If You go trew Bang Sappang Noi area - By the beach Bang Burd (Berd) we would love to pay a meal by a friend we have there. He has a restaurant there.

We are going to Koh samui sandbox in a few weeks. Do you have any recommendations on an area to stay that’s laid back but access to markets, food, and exploring the island (or which island between Koh panhang and Koh tao)

We follow Flora and Note already because they know Carey Away (and her gorgeous family) who we also follow.
We also love Ken Abroad x

Really looking forward to this segment of the adventure Paddy. Nice little blue house! You have to get back and find out what fruits those were. I had the feeling they are a type of lime but would like to know for sure.

Hi Paddy. Great video. Love the little blue house. We are in Koh Samui aswell. The prices for property rentals is so low at the minute. We just posted a video yesterday. We got a three bed house for only 750 THB a day. Let me know if you fancy a coffee or beer while you are here. :-)

Was waiting to hear what camera you bought, while thinking 'its gotta be a Sony, with that auto focus'. Good choice. I bought a ZV1 earlier this year, after a ton of research. Watching this episode... the quality is 2 thumbs up.

Hey PD, In this episode you talk about how you got a new camera I'll see it's a Panasonic Lumix. You have great video quality with the lumix. I only have the basic lens that came with the camera, I'm just curious what lens are you using? Please
