    Easiest way to tell Tusa and comet apart. Whichever one is not checking their feet is tusa.

    When Jamie walks out and Tusa freaked everyone of the animals in the room just looked at my cockatiel, because he was raised with Macaws and copies their flock call/scream. My teil just looked at them like that's not me lol

    I actually understand the poop curiosity. Its really hard to find what different parrot poop looks like - and thank god I learned how sloppy lineolated parakeet poop is bc that makes a huge difference to me and would affect everything. My budgies poop was tiny could be easily cleaned off of anything.

      Maybe they just dislike the idea of wild animals in captivity. I know this couple take very good care of their birds, but people are still allowed to feel these animals should not be pets.

    • @kaylee4705
      @kaylee4705 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Incanus Olórin true. Some birds are bred for captivity but your absolutely right

    • @incanusolorin2607
      @incanusolorin2607 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kaylee Thanks and sorry if I wasn’t clear. I didn’t mean to say that these birds are wild caught. I know they are all captive bred, but even if they never set foot on the jungle, they are still wild in the sense that they aren’t domesticated. Their genes and therefore their instincts are still the same as those of parrots born in the wild, because, unlike dogs, chickens, horses and cows, we haven’t selectively bred them for thousands of years.

    • @kaylee4705
      @kaylee4705 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Incanus Olórin you are absolutely correct. Lots of people don’t like zoos for that reason. All I can say is that if Birdtricks birds don’t get into the wild, they are living the absolute best life they can with them.

    Ohhh that's such a nostalgic(?) Macaw scream at about 7:27.
    A bird I used to work with (kinda) called Percy, hes a greenwing, reaaaally loved one of the other workers there. He would make that sound almost non stop all day for her, while we were all mere feet away from him.. so let's say I got used to macaw screams pretty quickly. LOL. It was kind of endearing after the initial "wOAH JESUS THATS LOUD?" Reaction. Haha!

    So fun hearing about Tusa and your different takes on your relationships with him. My plan was to adopt another bird (it's been some years since my last... a Quaker) within a year... but things aren't working out yet. I won't do it until I have the right conditions and bird. It's stupid and I don't actually get mad or anything, but I'm still like *fake gasp* traitor! XD

    • @carolhartley4448
      @carolhartley4448 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its different with birds, cuz remember they are flock animals/birds, cats and dogs are not flock animals so it's pretty hard to compare a bond you get with a parrot verses other animal, i mean no disrespect, i love all animals/and birds. Also parrots are exotic and not domesticated like a dog or cat, they are wild animals, the parrots.♥️and boy what great companions! Lol

    • @mimthyss
      @mimthyss 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@carolhartley4448 I know birds and cats are different. I wasn't referring to that haha. I'm saying you can still get jealous over your pet "choosing" somebody else over you regardless of what pet it is, unless it's like dogs or something. Dogs will love anybody haha. But cats are independent and very picky, they won't cuddle with just anybody. Lots of them will give the cold shoulder to 99% of people and become complete sweetheart babies for the other 1%. My family used to have a cat called Ruby like this, she was super grumpy and only liked one of our family members, would only purr for him and go to him etc. He could pick her up and she loved it, if we tried she'd claw the heck out of us xD you may not understand if you think cats aren't animals you can 'really' bond with. But they can be just as loving and bonded as a parrot

    Lol the 60/40 thing made me smile. When my partner was alive we had several cats. Dumo(aka Thundercat) who he rescued as a teeny kitten, Laza a foreign white, Tombi a tortie Burmese, Ilahle a red point siamese, and Madiba, a cream Burmese. Now, I'm a cat person.... I love them, they love me, but Madiba was always HIS cat. Officially so was Ilahle, but he turned into my cat, but not Madiba. My partner always used to say that ALL our cats were mine, but Madiba was his first, THEN mine. After my partner passed away suddenly, Madiba really missed him, but over time I've become an acceptable substitute I think. I still have Madiba and Ilahle today
